The Girl Gang Event 2016

Well that was a rollercoaster of excitement, food, alcohol, excitement, more food, friends, laughter and goodies!

On Thursday 25th August, I travelled from Brighton to Manchester with Jess (from Jess and Josh Cook) for the first official Girl Gang event, organised by Jemma (Dorkface).

On the train from Euston to Manchester we met up with Victoria (VNightingale). The trip took about 4 hours in all and having someone to chat to stopped me being nervous.

I popped to check into my hotel first and found that Jade (Wing it With Jade) and her friend Jess (non-blogger but we won’t hold that against her) were also staying at the hotel! We even got rooms next to each other!!

Jade and I ended up being about half an hour late, so as soon as we walked in to the venue (Dive NQ) we had a chat from the lovely lady from Pinkster Gin who explained why it’s pink and I tasted my first G&T! It was pretty good 🙂 Go check them out if you’re a gin fan!

Carrieanne (Beauties Unlocked) made the gorgeous Girl Gang cupcakes for everyone; she even made vegan cakes! 🙂

Afterwards we got to mingle and chat, although as usual, time went way too fast. I just hope I managed to chat to everyone for at least a little bit! I even got brave enough to ask for selfies <3 (can you spot Gary, Jemma’s lovely boyfriend and the only boy?)

Jemma put on such an amazing event; she’s like one of my best friends, except we’d never met before. It was like we’d known each other years. I love her to pieces <3

We also had a raffle which raised over £350 for Liverpool Whitechapel Homeless Charity. I’m a ridiculously lucky raffle winner and managed to win the bundle of goodies below; a Biba makeup bag, Jurlique balancing mist, Miss Organics facial oil, Weleda Skin Food and some Dirty Works cucumber patches for my eyes!

One of my other numbers got called later on but I thought it was only fair to let everyone else have a go so I decided not to pick a prize and asked Gary to redraw. One of mine got called again and I said that itreally  was okay for someone else to have a go, but if I got called again, I was taking a prize!! Inevitably, my number got called, so I nabbed the very awesome Benito Brow Bar voucher!! I can’t wait to get my brows done, it’ll be my first time. EVER!

After the event was over, a lot of us went out for food and drinks which was really lovely, but then most people went home 🙁 Luckily I wasn’t alone as Fiona (Wishes Hopes Dreams) along with Jade and  Jess were all staying in Manchester overnight too!

We carried the party on at Turtle Bay into the small hours (well about 9pm; rock and roll) and then went back to our hotels.

In the morning, Fiona and I went to Moose to try out the pancakes that Kat (Chapters of Kat) had recommended. We were not disappointed!!

Another 4 hour journey home and I was finally back and able to look at the amazing goody bag I’d be given!

A cute little wand, an Ooh la la print from LilyRoseCoWe Are Tea green tea, another  Jurlique balancing mist and a Tangle Angel mini hairbrush.

A little Ole Henriksen kit from Escentual (with a collagen booster serum, night treatment and a face cream), some Ugly Water with grapefruit and pineapple, a Timeless Truth face mask, a Yoshi purse (how cute are those penguins! This will be my winter purse) and some coconut lip balm from Balmi 🙂

A hot pink lipstick from Soap and Glory, another gorgeous bag from BIBA, GOSH nail hardener and glossy finish, Miss Organics facial oil, a blending brush from Crownbrush (another brush from them to add to my growing collection!) and some toner from La Roche-Posay.

Thank you to all the amazing brands who were involved and a massive, massive thank you to Jemma (and Gary) for setting it all up and making it an amazing event. I’m so lucky to have come away with some really amazing friends <3 Love you all!
