I’m absolutely rubbish at dressing for summer; because most of my clothes are black. Or very dark. So this year I’ve been trying really hard to brighten up up my look for the summer months and it’s been making me feel super happy!! Here’s what I’ve bought (so far!)
A few months ago I was off sick for a couple of weeks with vertigo. I got really bored as I couldn’t really do a huge amount, so I thought it was about time to learn a new skill. I took to YouTube to finally learn how to Dutch Braid my hair 🙂
Now I’ve got the basic style down (you know, the cute little two braids), I thought I’d share how I do it as a few people asked me on Twitter 🙂
I recently attended a blogger event at Bluebelle & Co in Brighton and was invited by the lovely Katie. I’m so glad I was, because I’ve now found the perfect place to go if I need some gift inspiration, a present for a new baby or even some gorgeous blog props.
You know when a super exciting email pops into your inbox and you have to stop yourself making a squee noise because you’re at work? That’s what happened to me when an email recently appeared from Jewellery Box.
This month has absolutely flown by tbh. I’ve barely had time to catch my breath and suddenly, it’s May! *cue loads of gif about N*Sync and Justin Timberlake on Twitter* (For reference, they sing called “It’s Gunna Be Me” but it sounds like they’re singing “it’s gunna be May” for anyone who’s totally confused!!)
If for whatever reason you stumbled across my Insta stories in the last few weeks, you’ll know I’ve had a bit of a saga trying to find a pair of dungarees I like that don’t make me feel like a heffa. If you haven’t seen it, then you’re about to read the saga. Lucky you. I’ll try and keep it as short as possible though. We’ve all got stuff to do.
If you’re not aware, I used to be a bit of a goth back in the day. I’m talking full-length leather trenchcoat (which I still own), baggy jeans, corsets, band tees, velvet clothing, studded chokers and quite often white foundation and black lipstick. I loved the gothic fashion, the tattoos and piercings (and to be honest, I still do, I’m just not quite as full-on as I used to be); it was beautiful to me and I finally felt like I fitted in somewhere. I was free to love metal music and watch Buffy to my heart’s content and I found an amazing group of friends who were just like me and didn’t judge me on what I looked like.
This month’s favourites post seems a nice mix of beauty and fashion, which is nice as usually my favourites is quite beauty heavy! So here’s what I loved this month 🙂
It’s been absolutely ages since I went and bought myself lots of new clothes. Partly because I’ve never really liked shopping (as I never know what size I’ll be in any given shop) and partly because I seem to have been losing a bit of weight recently (yay for pole fitness and my new hobby; hula hooping!) and I didn’t want to have to buy even more clothes in a couple of months’ time.
But while in Brighton a few weeks ago with one of my best mates, Rachael, we popped into H&M and I picked up a few bits! She’s a total enabler! I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t get any of the jeans I wanted in store, so I had a look on their website and while they were having a 10% off and free delivery week, I picked up my first two pairs of skinny jeans! OMG!
Back in November I wrote my first post about trying out some of the products from all the blogger goody bags I got last year! I figured it was a good way to actually remember to try all the lovely things I’d been given, rather than just keeping them in drawers out of the way!
Well since the first post, I’ve been rooting through my chests of drawers (Yes, chests. Plural. I have two chests of drawers full of products!) to find more products to try out. And I thought I’d share with you what I’ve been using for the last couple of months.
