The Power Of Makeup

I’m super late to the bandwagon as usual, but you know what? I don’t care 😛 If you have no idea what I’m talking about, the “power of make-up” is basically just a comparison of your before make-up and after make-up face which has been going viral on Twitter and Instagram! It shows off how different makeup can make you look!

I like wearing makeup. I like not wearing makeup. I don’t wear it to impress anyone, I wear it because sometimes if I’m having a shitty day and my eyes are darkly circled from lack of sleep or my face is having a delightful breakout, I want to be able to go out and not have people ask me if I’m okay because I look so awful. Sometimes it gives me a bit more confidence to be in public around people. I also like wearing makeup because I spent good money on it and it seems silly not to wear it!

To achieve this look, here’s what I used! I started off with foundation and used my Double Wear Light Foundation from Estée Lauder; I’m pretty pale so I have this in the shade 0.5. Next up I applied a tiny bit of blusher because I’m too scared to go all out with it lol!! The blush is from the Pure Colour Blush collection and is in the shade Lover’s Blush. It’s another Estée Lauder product (and it smells amazing!!)

For my eyes, I went over my “barely-there” brows with my brow kit from Sleek in the shade light. I then applied eyeshadow over my lids using my Au Naturel Palette which is also from Sleek. Then I applied my eyeliner on the top and bottom with this eyeliner pen from Lomeou*. I finally applied some mascara using Le Volume mascara from Chanel.

For my lips, I started out with the anti-bleed lip liner from MUA (available from Superdrug) and finished off the look with my trusty red lipstick (the Kate Moss 107) from Rimmel!!

  1. My SO always says I look the same with or without makeup but I just ENJOY applying makeup, it’s relaxing and fun. You’re right, we spent money on the makeup, might as well wear it.
