So I’ve previously written about my makeup storage, which you can read here, if you’ve not read it before. This was all going well and fine, until I decided to tip my lipsticks out onto my bed to try and find a specific one, not realising that the lid of one of my lipsticks had fallen off.
Cue hot pink lipstick all over the light grey duvet cover and over all my other lipsticks. Cleaning that mess up is half an hour I’m never going to get back!!
I really enjoyed writing a chatty post for August, so I’m back with a little bit of a catch-up on all the fun (and not so fun) things I’ve been up to during September!!
Last weekend, Rachael and I travelled up to London to check out Friends Fest! We’d had the tickets booked since March, so you can bet we were super excited. Well, I was, after a coffee and a Bagelman (sausage, mushroom and cheese!)
Working a full-on 9 to 5 job and then going home to make dinner, do some housework and try to find some time to blog as well, it’s sometimes really hard to switch off and have some me time.
But now I have some beautiful products to help me wind down in the evenings and they just help to make life that little bit easier 🙂
Back in the 90s, I was one of those children who, rather than scoffing chocolate and biscuits, always used to devour a packet of Polos pretty much every day, almost like there was no tomorrow. I always used to keep a packet either in my pocket or in a hand-me-down bag from my mum, which inevitably led to Polos falling out all over the place, getting all dirty with pocket fluff or breaking in the bottom of my bag 🙁
I was also one of those weird kids who used to suck their Polos until they were really, really thin, break a section off and pretend I had my lip pierced by using the POLO® as a lip ring!! Erm… Just me then, yeah?
I’m not going to lie, we’re a massive fan of gadgets in our house, if it makes our lives easier, we’re in! From lighting we can control from our phones (thanks IKEA) to using our Google Home to play music, get up to date with the latest news and commute times to work.
We also have a plethora of kitchen gadgets that we actually use frequently; the Nutribullet for those daily smoothies (yup, I’m still using this a year later), an air fryer for healthier cooking and an electric can opener.
to someone whose partner has a chronic illness!
If you follow me avidly on social media, or we’re proper real-life friends, you might know that for the past 20 years or so, J has an undiagnosed chronic illness that shares a lot of symptoms with ME and fibromyalgia. He’s constantly tired, he struggles to concentrate for long periods of time, and generally, his whole body aches with minimal exertion. This has got a lot worse over the past few years and because he was often in bed at the weekends, I actually started this blog to have a hobby while he was sleeping!
A couple of weekends ago I jumped on a train to Chichester, meeting Millie, Beth and Rosie on the way, where we headed to Jo Malone (based in House of Fraser) for a wonderful afternoon to celebrate the launch of their latest fragrances; English Oak and Redcurrant and English Oak with Hazelnut ♥
It’s not really a secret that I’m a bit of a homebody. I much prefer pottering round the house of a weekend than being out in clubs or going to loud parties and feeling rubbish the next day!!
Saturday evenings are my absolute favourite because there’s no work the next day and I know that I don’t have to go anywhere; a bonus especially when it’s raining or cold outside 🙂
There’s nothing better than putting on the side lamp, cosying up on the sofa with J (under our massively super soft chocolate brown blanket) and chilling out watching TV or a film ♥
