Well that sounds a bit scientific, doesn’t it? It’s not though I promise, and because Superdrug have done all the science for you, you just get to play Master (or Mistress) Perfumer to your heart’s content!
So what exactly are the Layering Lab Body Mists? Well, they’re six beautiful body mists which have been designed by Superdrug to be worn during different times of the day or night, depending on your activity. But what about the layering part Hols? Ah right, yeah, well this is the clever/fun part, they’ve been carefully created so that you can spray two different ones on yourself at the same time and make your own unique scent!
I was very kindly sent three of the new range (Fresh, Cocoon and Floral) to try out (the other mists in the range are called Gourmand, Paradise and Oriental).
I have to say that although I love them all, Fresh was definitely my favourite of the three. I’m so glad I was sent this one because it’s a fruit body mist because, as you all know, I’m a sucker for anything fruity-scented (no YOU’RE obsessed with food!) Fresh is perfect for wearing in the daytime and smells of citrus and grapefruit, combined with juicy apple and sweet pear. It definitely lives up to its name as it’s certainly fresh and very light. The bottle suggests that Paradise is the best body mist to mix it with.
Cocoon is an relaxing evening body mist designed to be mixed with Oriental. It smells like jasmine which I absolutely love, along with white flowers and white tea. Subtle hints of sandalwood and vanilla make up the base note for this mist. It’s definitely done wonders at making me feel relaxed of an evening; it’s almost like lighting a relaxing candle and meditating!
Floral is another daytime scent and it’s designed to energise you. Superdrug suggests that you can wear it to the gym or on a really active day. This is another fruity body mist (yay) but this time it feels slightly heavier (I hope you guys know what I mean?? Scents are so hard to describe!!) as it has raspberries and blackberries with peonies, violet leaves and rose petals. There’s also a white musk undertone which is incredibly subtle. Which is great because I actually hate the smell of musk!!
On the bottle, it says that Floral should work well with Fresh. I gave it a go and oh my goodness, it really does smell incredible!! I think it smells even better than the two on their own! It’s like wandering round an apple orchard on a warm sunny day and a breeze suddenly washes over you, bringing with it the scent of pretty flowers from the gardens.
I absolutely love wearing these as they smell delicious and I can’t wait to try out the other ones in the range! The other fab things about these is that 1) they’re only £2.99 each; I definitely thought they’d be more around the £5 mark and 2) they’re suitable for vegetarians and vegans!
Have you tried any of these yet? Which are your favourites or which would you love to try out? Let me know in the comments below 🙂 x
