Until last year, Smashbox cosmetics hadn’t really been on my radar. After Áine and I went to their event in London, in conjunction with We Are Thirty Plus, I absolutely fell in love with their Be Legendary lipsticks, especially Skinny Jeans, their gorgeous dark blue lipstick ♥
But back to the event in Brighton!! I met up with Katie, Tania and some other lovely ladies at Boots in Brighton to check out the latest Smashbox releases. It turns out we were also supposed to be seeing some of their very new liquid metal lipsticks (be still my heart ♥) but the launch has been pushed back until May. Boo!! That being said, there were still loads of their other new products to test out and fall in love with!
I tried swatching their new spotlight palettes; Gold and Pearl which are absolutely beautiful. I thought I got a stunning pic but it turns out that actually I didn’t. Well done Hols. I highly recommend checking them out though as they looked incredible!!
I did check out their contour and highlight sticks though which were so creamy and easy to apply. There are four different ones to choose from; bronze, contour, highlight and illuminate.
One of my favourite things of the evening were the new Cover Shot eye palettes. The packaging looks so beautiful and the colour explosion on the front moves as you move the box ♥
I fell in love with the Ablaze palette and couldn’t resist making a cheeky purchase. Although it was £24, I don’t own any palettes with reds in, plus I had a Love 2 Shop voucher so it was like it was meant to be. Nirvana is my new favourite shade ever (bottom row, second from left).
The lovely ladies had even set up a selfie station for us!!
This gorgeous pic was taken by Hayley and it’s of Tania, me and Katie ♥
What I didn’t realise until the event is that Smashbox is actually owned by the Estée Lauder group and their brands also include Bumble and Bumble and Glamglow. So we got to check out their latest products too!!
Glamglow is a company I’ve only heard of recently so I was intrigued to find out more about them and their products. Glamglow has been around for about 7 years now and they currently have 6 different mud treatments.
The black at the front is the YOUTHMUD which is for gentle exfoliation and leaves skin looking smoother and brighter. The green is POWERMUD for an amplified deep cleansing and finally, the orange is their FLASHMUD which is a brightening treatment.
One of my favourites we were shown was the GRAVITYMUD, a peel-off mud mask for tightening and lifting the face. Oh and it contains marshmallow!! All the mask pots come with little brushes so you can easily apply it 🙂 I was definitely tempted to get myself one of these, although the £39 price tag is slightly off-putting, not gunna lie! Weirdly I got sent a little sample of the YOUTHMUD last week so I’m going to give it a try and see if it’s worth getting a full-sized one 🙂
My favourite Bumble and Bumble product of the evening had to be this conditioning mousse, mostly because the packaging is so pretty 🙂 It would look stunning sitting in a bathroom or bedroom!
At the end of the evening, we we all given a little goody bag and got to pick two products to go in it. I picked the Photo Finish Primer as I’ve used it before and loved it and the full exposure mascara. I was also kindly gifted some Bumble and Bumble thickening hairspray (perfect as I don’t own hairspray!), some Sumoclay for a matt, dry finish on your hair and some thickening shampoo and conditioner samples. Smashbox kindly popped some Photo Finish lid primer samples in Light and Medium and two Photo Finish primer samples. I also got a mini Instamatte for transforming lipsticks to a matte finish. From Glamglow I received a sample of the FLASHMUD brightening treatment which I can’t wait to use!
I just wanted to say thank you to the lovely ladies at Smashbox for such a lovely evening and just being let loose on the products 🙂
Have you tried or heard of these brands before? What are your favourite products from them? Let me know in the comments below 🙂 x
