A Chatty Catch-Up | October

If you follow me on social media and regularly read my blog, you’ll know that things went a little quiet last month. I decided to take some down-time from blogging to concentrate on some real-life projects I’d been neglecting. Every weekend is usually spent taking blog photos, editing them and proof-reading blog posts for the next week, so it was lovely not to have to worry about any of that for a while.

So what did I get up to in my time away from blogging?

Well, the first weekend, J and I actually spent most of Saturday in bed watching TV and eating sweets, it was bloody awesome and I didn’t feel at all guilty 😀

Mostly though, I wanted to do some bits round the house because I’d been neglecting it a bit. i gave the house a proper clean, you know the kind, getting into all the nooks and crannies and getting rid of all the cobwebs that I’d been ignoring. Oops. I also cleaned the extractor fan in the kitchen which was ridiculously dusty!

I finally moved all the bags of plaster out of the hallway and put them upstairs. There were 6 full bags, each weighing 25 kg. It was really tiring and sweaty work, but it looks so much better now. Well, it will do once it’s been painted.

We also got round to going upstairs and have started piling things up that we can take to the tip! It’s such a big project but we’re doing it in small stages so it doesn’t feel overwhelming 🙂

Back in the summer, J and I started work on our garden to make our garden more level with our neighbour’s garden so the fence sits better. Part of this included digging out the grass in sections and moving them into the flowerbed for the time being so we can start to dig down to the right depth. The grass we (me, J and my big brother, Phil) moved hadn’t been trimmed since we put it in, so I gave it a pretty good haircut!

Our lovely next-door neighbours also gave us some cuttings of plants from their garden which had been sat in a box on our driveway for a couple of weeks so I got round to planting them! I have no idea what they are, but they look pretty awesome 😀

Although I wasn’t actively blogging, I kept up with tweet scheduling. I finally got around to doing my tax return for my blog which felt amazing! I’ve put it off for months but it’s finally done and out of the way and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be!!  I’m looking forward to going to the Festive Blogger Event at Lush in Crawley next month!!

I managed to take time out to read and have binged on Tim Weaver books; he writes fantastic crime thrillers and before I never really had the time to get stuck in properly!

I also started thinking seriously about finally having my tattooed covered up so I’m going to start looking for tattooists!!

I also had a bit of a health scare this month, which was another reason I took time out of blogging; luckily everything is fine, but I wanted to write a separate post about it, so look out for that in the next couple of weeks (*edit* you can now read about that here!)

Finally, don’t forget to check out my wonderful advertiser; Kathleen.  Kathleen is a premium skincare brand with a passion for all things natural and organic.  They have an incredible range of products and I’ve reviewed the Illuminating Serum, the Sonic Facial Cleanser and their brand new shower gels and body oils!
