The Foodies Festival | Hove Lawns

I was kindly given VIP tickets to attend the Foodies Festival over the May Bank Holiday weekend, so I took one of my friends, Rachael, with me. We headed down on the Sunday, even though we knew it was going to rain that afternoon.

I’d never been before so had no idea what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised, because it was absolutely huge!! There were so many stalls with all the foods and all the drinks, we were definitely in our elements.

I’m not sure why but I was actually quite restrained and tried not to indulge in all the free samples, but I definitely had fun taste testing some of the food on offer; including fudge, macarons, lots of different cheeses and Mary Berry’s spiced tomato chutney (which was absoutely delicious!) I didn’t even know Mary Berry had a range of foods out!!

We also got to hang out in the VIP tent with our free prosecco, which was lovely, especially when the heavens opened and we had to run for cover!

There was so much to see; there were a couple of stages for bands to play music, different tents for cooking demonstrations, a drinks tent, which had a queue for miles, and even a pirate ship selling rum in coconuts.

I absolutely loved the vintage tea room tent, they’d really gone to town and made such an effort with the decorations and clothing ๐Ÿ™‚ The cakes also looked delicious!

Although there were so many stalls selling food, once I’d seen the Crispy Duck Rotisserie, I knew that’s where I wanted to eat lunch. A crispy duck wrap set me back ยฃ7 and was rammed full of duck, hoisin sauce, cucumber and spring onions. Unfortunately it was a little bit too full and the sauce ended up going all down my dungarees ๐Ÿ™

Once we had lunch, we went back round the festival a few times to see if there were any goodies we wanted to buy. We didn’t end up buying anything but we did try some more samples and get some fab pics of the stalls. Check out these amazing pink turnips strips!!

I did treat myself to a Sprinkles donut from this stall and it was absolutely delicious ๐Ÿ™‚

Rachael tried out loads of the chilli sauces and I was disappointed that she didn’t seem affected by any of them ๐Ÿ™ Then the guy from this stall brought out the Godslayer chilli sauce for her to try! I totally wimped out though and didn’t fancy trying it at all. My other favourite chilli stall of the day was the Australian Fair Dinkum Fare. They had names like Crikey, Bonza and Strewth ๐Ÿ˜€

I had a lovely time at the festival and I’ll definitely be going again next year! I might even buy something next time ๐Ÿ˜€ On the way out of the Foodies Festival, we were given goody bags, which was really lovely!

I gotย some Finn Crisp sourdough crispbread, Rebel Kitchen dairy free chocolate milk, Seabrook cheese and onion lattice crisps, Peanut Hottie hot drink, Spice Tailor tomato, garlic and chilli chutni and a Get Fruity marvellous mango bar!!

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the Foodies Festival for inviting me down, I had such a lovely time ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m definitely going back next year as it was such an enjoyable event!!

  1. Ooh! I love food festivals! I think I would have spent a lot of my time in the cake tent though, they looked yummy!

    1. It was really good fun and so many samples being offered!! The wrap was so good, until I dropped it down myself lol
