A Chatty Catch-Up | October 2018

October has been a pretty slow relaxing month, which has been nice!Β  It’s also been a month of warm sunshine, birthdays, illnesses and a trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour with my mum βš‘οΈπŸŽ‰

Here’s my round-up of what happened in October!

Food:

With the opening of an Aldi in Brighton with a free car park right outside, J and I decided to check it out and we’ve been pretty impressed so far! We used to shop at Asda but, actually, we’ve found that a lot of the staple items in Aldi are cheaper, so we’ve been saving money πŸ™‚

October also saw me heading to The Body Shop in Brighton for their VIP Blogger Event (a post on that will be up soon!)Β  We were treated to food from Leon, a healthy fast food restaurant opposite the Clock Tower! They were handing out samples of their lentil masala and I have to say, it was absolutely delicious.Β  In fact, it was so tasty, I went back for a second portion πŸ™ŠΒ  I’ve been there before, having tried one of their grilled halloumi wraps and I’d certainly recommend trying them out if you haven’t already πŸ˜€

It was also J’s birthday in October, so we chilled with a takeaway from one of our favourite Chinese restaurants, Kum’s, and I made him a waffle stack!! I was going to make the waffles myself, but he’d secretly bought some from Aldi that you can shove in the toaster, so all I had to do was heat them up and assemble them!!Β  This stack has whipped cream, strawberries, chocolate ice cream, marshmallows, maple syrup, sprinkles and chocolate sauce on it 😍😍😍😍😍😍

Mum and I treated ourselves to some butterbeer ice cream while we were at the Harry Potter studio tour; look how massive it is!!

Purchases:

While I was in Primark buying a couple of J’s birthday presents, I accidentally found myself in the women’s pyjama section and picked up the beautifully autumnal/wintery Harry Potter pyjama bottoms. I love the tartan print and the gold foil deer head!

I also picked myself up a couple of new pins from The Castle Club Co. These are spoopy Mickey treats and I think they’re absolutely adorable!!

Blogging:

October was a pretty good month for blogging. I took a little break and found that inspiration came flooding back πŸ™‚ I went to a blog event at The Body Shop as I mentioned above and got invited to enjoy a facial at The Skin Studio πŸ™‚

I also got a couple of pretty exciting blogger mail packages through the post; first up was a set of mini toners from Pixi Beauty!! I’ve started using the glow tonic and, so far, I love it, but I need to give it a lot longer before I can make a proper judgement!

Home and garden:

Absolutely nothing to report on this front I’m afraid, although I did rearrange the bookshelves a little πŸ–€πŸ–€

I also put out some Halloween decorations; I left it too late to go all out but this is the hallway shoe cupboard!! πŸ–€πŸ–€

The best of the rest:

As I mentioned at the beginning, I treated my mum to a ticket to the Harry Potter Studio Tour in Watford for her birthday. Obviously I didn’t want her to go on her own, so I dutifully got myself a ticket too and went along with her!! We had such a lovely day and the best part for me was seeing my mum’s face as she saw everything!!

I also spent a lot of time at home sick. I managed to pick up a chest infection, so spent my days coughing in bed, surrounded by tissues, and watching Castle!!
