Having watched several beauty box unboxing videos and reading several different blog posts where people always seem a bit disappointed and underwhelmed with their boxes, it’s always put me off subscribing to any.Ā I just don’t want to fork out that much money every month for products I don’t want, won’t use or already have!
There’s nothing worse in the summer than making an effort with your hair, only for the weather to play havoc with your locks. My hair used to go a bit Monica in the humidity, but now I find it just goes limp and lifeless, I wonder if that happens as you get older? š
To stop my hair from looking boring and flat this summer, I’ve been using the John Frieda Luxurious Volume shampoo, Luxurious Volume conditioner and the Luxurious Volume in-shower treatment* to help my hair out.
I’ve also been experimenting a bit more with different looks, rather than just shoving it in a ponytail, so here are my top easy hairstyles š
I absolutely love dry shampoo; it’s probably one of the best things that’s ever happened to the beauty world (apart from highlighters) and I couldn’t ever be without it. I’ve tried loads of different ones over the years from those cheap ones that cost about Ā£1 to one that set me back a whopping Ā£22!! (In my defence though, it smelt absolutely incredible, but I shan’t ever be spending that much again!)Ā

When I was really young, I was a proper little blonde haired girl! As I grew up, it started getting darker and by about 7, I became a pretty non-descript “mousey brown”.
Over the years, my hair’s been black, red, blue, and pink. But in the last year or so, I’ve gone back to being blonde. And I have to say I’m absolutely loving it! I still have my brown roots though as I wanted more of a “natural” balayage look and it seems to suit my skin tone quite well!
I realise that this is a pretty odd post to write considering my recent “I hate summer” post, but occasionally I do have to brave the outside world. Sometimes I even choose to; especially if there’s a BBQ involved. As long as I feel prepared, I’m pretty okay with being outdoors. I remember my mum taking me to The Body Shop when I was a child; I remember their dolphin bath pearls, the shimmery gold pearls and the strawberry soaps. A lot has changed since then.

Back in November 2013, I was about to go on my first official date with J, so I popped to my local hairdresser to get my hair done! Talk about trying to make a good impression! She said she’d just bought a Curl SecretĀ which was relatively new. I was really intrigued so I said I’d be her guinea pig and let her try it out on my hair!!
