My Review Of The Estrid Razor Subscription Box*

I’ll admit I’m not very consistent when it comes to shaving, because it’s a bit of a bloody chore. I hate cleaning the razor afterwards and how quickly the hair grows back. The itchy stage along the bikini line is just awful! I used to buy cheap disposable razors which probably didn’t help the issue either.

Then along came Estrid.

Estrid is a new vegan razor subscription company from Scandinavia, which has been specifically been designed for women. The company was founded because they were tired of seeing men’s razors everywhere.

For £7.95 (and free delivery) you receive a steel razor handle, a wall holder and 2 razor cartridges. There’s a choice of 5 colours, all of which are super pretty! You can choose how often to receive replacement cartridges, depending how often you shave. The replacement cartridges are £9.95 for a pack of 4 and you can skip, pause or cancel your subscription at any time! Estrid also sell other products like shaving cream, body lotion and body oil wash.

I went for the pink razor 🙂 My starter kit arrived really fast and in a gorgeous little pink box!!

The razor:

The razor handle is incredibly slim-line (compared with the one I currently own). It also feels a lot weightier in my hand, so I don’t feel like I’m going to drop it every 5 seconds. There’s also a rubber strip on the back for grip!

I’ll have to be honest that I didn’t check the website *that* carefully, because I thought the razor cartridges would match the handles, but they’re actually all blue!! The cartridges are 5-blade and the lubricating strip contains aloe vera, cocoa butter, shea butter and jojoba seed oil for a super moisturising shave!

The review:

I’ve been incredibly impressed with the Estrid razor, even from the first shave. The cartridge moves smoothly along my legs, even on my knees; and handles the curve of my armpits brilliantly. I messaged my best friend after my first time to let her know the razor was one of the most amazing things to have ever been near my vag (because who doesn’t like a neat bikini line and an oversharing WhatsApp message??) I’ve found that I get barely any irritation after I’ve shaved my bikini line now, which I’m eternally grateful for.

I tend to use conditioner when shaving my legs because I can’t be arsed to buy yet another product and it does the job perfectly well. However, I found that I didn’t need to bother using anything at all for the first few shaves because the lubricating strip was that incredible! My legs were also so moisturised from the strip that I didn’t need any moisturiser afterwards 🙂

The cartridge is really easy to clean afterwards, which is brilliant because I find disposable razors are shit to clean. I also love that the wall holder doesn’t fall off the wall in the middle of the night like my old one used to!

I’d definitely recommend checking Estrid out if you’re a fan of shaving!!

Have you tried an Estrid razor yet? Which colour would you pick? Let me know in the comments below 🙂 x

  1. That’s amazing value for a steel razor – I use an epilator on my legs because I’m too lazy to shave every other day but I might look into one of these for my underarms. Glad to read the legs in your photos are your own, haha! x

    1. I thought it would be a lot more expensive to be honest!! I’ve never used an epilator before, what’s it like? Ahaha, thanks, I could have got J to model for me but I decided to use my leg!! 🙂 xx

    1. I’d definitely recommend trying it out and you don’t need to be tied into the subscription, you could just buy the razor to see how you get on. Thank you 🙂 xx

  2. This sounds really good! I actually use these ridiculously cheap men’s razors from a Chinese shop in the Canaries (they’re like, £3 for a set but they work really well) however my stock has run out as I can’t get back there to buy more! These sound like a wonderful replacement – great price, and they’re so pretty, too! I’ll have to add them to my shopping list.

    1. I think a lot of people use men’s razors because they’re so much cheaper! I don’t shave that often so I know the blades will last me for ages 🙂 xx
