Well, it’s now 2019 and I’ve just got round to writing my December catch-up for 2018, oops!
I’m definitely excited to see the back of 2018 and get on with 2019; not in the least because I have three tattoo sessions booked in for the next three months ππ
Anyhoo, here’s a look back at what I got up to in December π
Food:
I got to spend an amazing evening with Tania at La Cave a Fromage eating cheese fondue and having a good old catch-up ππ§ If you’ve not checked it out yet, I wrote a post about our evening π
Sammy and I went to try the menu at The Queensbury Coffee House (spoiler alert: it was delicious!!) We had a really lovely time and I got to spend time with her adorable puppy, Mr Biscuit!!
I was invited to Rachie‘s Christmas lunch with Katie, Megan, Sarah and Danni; plus Ezra and Woody, the cutest little boys ever! We had an amazing spread complete with gammon, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets and loads of veg! It was so lovely to get to know everyone better π
Purchases:
I bought Bear the cutest and cosiest furry cat bed from Aldi, he absolutely loves it π
I added to my collection of crime thrillers with this book from Chris Carter; The Crucifix Killer! I devoured it within a couple of days and I definitely want to read more of the books in the series π€
I also wanted to buy a couple more pins to add to my collection and this cute Christmas tree and adorable Christmas pudding from the Pin Badge Club were the perfect addition ππ
Β Blogging:
December probably saw my highest collaborative posts for a while! I was very excited to work with National Express on their #ChristmasPresence campaign which saw me and one of my best friends, Rachael, heading to London for the day to check out a couple of Christmas markets ππ
I became a #skinfluencer for Dermalogica and received a massive box of products to try. I can’t wait to test everything and share my favourite products with you π
I also received this incredible blogger mail from Pixi Beauty; it not only has my fricking name on it, but there’s a little section for cotton pads too. I honestly wasn’t expecting it but I’m so thankful to the brand for sending it to me!! πβ€οΈ
Katie and I also worked with Yankee Candle to give each other a personalised candle for Christmas, mine is red raspberry and has a photo of Mr Bear on it π
Home and garden:
A couple of years ago, my mum and dad got me and J a gift voucher for our local garden centre. It was due to expire at the end of this year so we popped over to Wyevale Garden Centre to spend, spend, spend!! We bought a fruiting cherry tree (because we had one before we had the garden landscaped and I really wanted to have one again), two ornamental cabbages (because they looked so pretty), Hebe and a cercidiphyllum π
The best of the rest:
I spent a few days before Christmas on the Isle of Wight with my mum and dad. We played crazy golf, went bowling, had lunch in a country pub and started (and finished) a jigsaw puzzle β€οΈ
J and I had loads of time off over Christmas and we spent it relaxing, watching films and eating loads of delicious food π
Finally, don’t forget to check out my lovely advertisers:
The Valkyries are a group of fearless ladies (talking all things nerdy! If you’re into Harry Potter, Doctor Who, comics, cosplay and other nerdy things, you definitely need to check out the Valkyries blog β€οΈβ€οΈ
Kathleen is a premium skin care brand with a passion for all things natural and organic. They have an incredible range of products and I’ve reviewed the Illuminating Serum, the Sonic Facial Cleanser and their brand new shower gels and body oils on my blog π

That house for bear looks adorable and so cosy! Iβm glad he enjoys it. π I havenβt heard of Chris Carter or his book The Crucifix Killer but I enjoy a good crime thriller so Iβll be on the look out in my local book store or charity shops. It sounds like youβve had a great December Holly, hereβs to a great 2019. π₯πΎ
I wish I could fit in it ππ Crime thriller is my favourite genre of book, I hope you find a copy π do you have any recommendations?
Hope you have a fab 2019 β¨β¨
I loved reading the Bone Collector and the follow up, The Skin Collector. Also anything by Kathy Reichs.
I think I read one of the Kathy Reichs books but I’m not really a fan of present tense books.
Thatβs fair. Iβll see if I can think of any others. π
Thank you πππ
Your December sounds like it was a blast! The house for Bear looks so cosy, do they do human versions?! Your candle with Bear on the front is super cute and thoughtful π Those Christmas themed pins are adorable too x
Ahaha, I wish they did human versions, it’s so warm and snug in there!! I love my candle, I’m reluctant to burn it though!! x
Iβd buy a human version in a heartbeat! What scent is the candle?
Same tbh!! It’s red raspberry and smells amazing!! π
It was so much fun reading this post. And I canNOT get over how cute that Christmas pudding pin is!
Thank you so much. Agreed, he is so super cute π xx
So, Mr Biscuit is an absolute cutie!!!
I could go for some of that fondue right now, I don’t think I’ve ever had fondue .
