The Skin Studios | Hove*

I was recently contacted by the lovely Juliet at The Skin Studios who very generously offered me a complementary facial at her studio, which is situated within Clinic 33 in Salisbury Road, Hove.

Clinic 33 is a building where beauty businesses can hire out rooms, so there are a few different companies under the one roof.

When I arrived, Juliet was incredibly welcoming and friendly. As we chatted, I learnt that she’s been at Clinic 33 for about 10 weeks now, having recently relocated from London.

I didn’t have any specific skin concerns when I went in, although I did mention that I had enlarged pores (especially on my left cheek and my nose), plus a constant dry patch by my nostril! Juliet suggested that she could give me a skin brightening and hydration boost facial, which I happily went along with!

I was asked to take my shoes, jumper and necklace off and get under the blanket. Juliet said it was a heated blanket that I could have on but, as it was quite a hot day, I opted to have it turned off. She then left the room to leave me to get ready.

Once I was ready, Juliet came back in and wrapped up my hair so it didn’t get any products in it โค๏ธ Most places I’ve been to before don’t do this, so this was a lovely touch!! Juliet uses Dermaviduals products which are free from parabens, artificial fragrances and all the other crap often put into products. They’re also not tested on animals!

Firstly she cleansed my skin thoroughly, to remove any traces of dirt and makeup then turned on her steam machine and pointed it towards my face. It was lovely and warm and I was told it would help to open my pores to not only clean them out but to allow any products to sink in to my skin better!ย She then cleansed my face again, because sometimes a double cleanse is important!

Then Juliet carefully applied an enzyme peel to smooth my skin and brighten my complexion, as a recent bout of illness has left my face looking quite dull! She then gave me a super relaxing face massage to help with drainage and to lift the skin ๐Ÿ˜

Then came the weird part! I thought she was using a device on my face that sucked out my pores, but it was actually an oxygen vitamin infusion, with vitamin C and compressed oxygen!! This bit felt a bit odd and was very cold but it wasn’t entirely unpleasant. The oxygen is compressed to allow the ingredients to penetrate the skin deeper and the treatment is designed to rejuvenate and brighten up the skin ๐Ÿ˜

Once she’d put on a vitamin C face mask, I was treated to a lovely neck and shoulder massage ๐Ÿ™‚

Finally, Juliet put on vitamin C serum, plus some hyaluronic acid moisturiser, to help hydrate my skin.

Juliet told me that my face had been lacking some serious moisture. I’ve been quite run down over the past few weeks so my daily routine hasn’t exactly been the best. I’m now determined to get back into it and make more of an effort to moisturise more!!

My skin looked a bit red and “glowing” (or greasy, probably greasy) for an hour or so but, once I’d had a shower, my face calmed down and it looked refreshed, hydrated and definitely much brighter!!

If you’re looking for a really personalised facial, I’d definitely recommend Juliet! Her prices start from ยฃ50 for an express 45 minute facial; she also offers electrolysis, waxing and tinting treatments too!!

I just want to say a massive thank you to Juliet for the invitation and for making my face look and feel itself again โค๏ธโค๏ธ
