I find, having rosacea, skincare can sometimes be a bit hit and miss for me. I have my trusty favourites but I hate trying anything new in case it causes a flare-up.
However, for the past couple of months, I’ve been trying out the My Kinda Skin Sensitive Skincare set from Temple Spa. The set (a cleanser, toner and moisturiser) has been specially designed for sensitive skin and the aim is to calm, soothe and settle skin. The kit costs £65 (or you can buy the individual products for £75). So how did I get on?
The Be Gone kind-hearted cleansing creme is honestly like sticking your hand in melted marshmallow. It’s incredibly soft, a little bit gooey and feels really cooling and soothing on the skin. A little bit goes a really long way! It’s also great at taking off make-up. Although I haven’t been wearing much recently, I’ve tried taking off my eyebrow pencil, eyeliner and concealer and it did just fine!
The important info:
The cleanser contains vitamins A & E, plus Temple Spa’s unique Calmaderm™ complex. It also contains Mediterranean botanicals of basil, aubergine, liquorice and apricot, to leave your complexion healthy, settled and comforted. It’s vegan, paraben, cruelty and SLS/SLES-free. The cleansing crème costs £21 for 150 ml.
I really love this cleanser as it’s not harsh on my skin and leaves it feeling fresh, soft and hydrated. I would definitely buy this cleanser in the future.
The alcohol-free Toning Essence is a refreshing and cooling toner but, be warned, if you have any spots, it does sting quite a bit. The toner is great at getting up any residual makeup the cleanser didn’t get though. I find the scent quite masculine but not altogether unpleasant.
The important info:
The bottle says “the fragrance is inspired by a Mediterranean summer salad. The ingredient list is straight from the markets – tomato, lemon, orange, melon, rosemary, basil, mandarin, lime and ginger.” You can either use it as a toner and spray it onto a cotton ball or face pad to wipe off any remaining debris and traces of cleanser, or you can use it as a hydrating mist. The Toning Essence is £16 for 150 ml.
Although I liked the toner, I feel there are much cheaper alternatives out there that also work on sensitive skin. I don’t think I’d purchase this in the future.
The Be Still settling moisturiser says it has a texture like liquid silk although I personally don’t find it glides on as easily as the crème does. It absorbs relatively quickly, although until it does, it makes my skin feel a little tacky and look a bit greasy. I suffer from quite dry skin in patches and I find it moisturises my skin amazingly well.
The important info:
The moisturiser contains vitamins A & E plus Temple Spa’s unique Calmaderm™ complex. It also contains Mediterranean botanicals of basil, aubergine, liquorice and apricot, plus a powerful prebiotic to provide the comfort sensitive skin craves. The moisturiser is £38.00 for 50 ml.
I’m really torn with this moisturiser. On the one hand it does moisturise my skin incredibly well and it’s brilliant on sensitive skin. On the other hand, it’s almost the price of a weekly food shop. For me personally, I think this might be something I treat myself to occasionally, rather than an everyday moisturiser.
*These products were kindly sent to me but all views are my own.
I have seen Temple Spa everywhere, but have yet to try them! I might check them out when I run out of my current products x
They have so many different products, there’ll definitely be something to suit your skin type 🙂 x
These sound so good, but not sure that they would be worth the price, I think you really need to love something to spend so much on it. It’s still fun to try out some new products though!
I definitely feel like it’s made a difference to my skin, it’s not red after I use the products. I just have to work out if it’s worth the cost or if I can find a suitable alternative 🙂 x
Eeek, I definitely agree with you on the price point for the moisturiser. It sounds great, but I don’t know if I could work it into my budget without feeling guilty!x
I’m thinking a birthday treat. I usually treat myself to a tattoo on my birthday but maybe I’ll go with a moisturiser instead this year 🙂 x
I’ve heard so many good things about temple spa, I’ve tried the cleansing mask but not any of the sensitive skincare range! Thanks for sharing x
I didn’t know they did a mask, I’ll have to look into that 🙂 xx
What a gorgeous review! My skin goes through phases of being sensitive but Temple Spa bits always soothes and makes it better. Can’t rate another brand!
Thank you 🙂 I find that Dermalogica is another brand that doesn’t irritate my skin 🙂 x
The cleansing creme sounds lovely! Glad this brand seems to work well for you but yikes that’s pricey! Totally understand why you’d buy it as a treat now and then.
Yeah, I think they’re birthday treat products rather than everyday! xx
I’ve never actually tried anything from Temple Spa. They sound great and I always hear good things but it’s definitely important not to splash out if you can find alternatives which are just as good but a fraction of the price. They are a bit pricey! x
Definitely, or see whether they have sample sizes to try out 🙂 x
I love how honest your review is! I’ve recently received some Temple Spa products and I absolutely love some of them, especially the face mask xx
Thank you! I definitely need to try more of their products as they worked really well for my skin 🙂 xx
I haven’t tried this brand before, but I like your descriptions – especially the cleansing cream! I’ve been looking for something that’s good for make up removal, I’ve been using a bar recently that’s fantastic for make up removal and doesn’t irritate my skin, however it does leave me feeling greasy afterwards, and I then feel like I have to wash my face again to get rid of that which obviously I don’t want! Did you use all three of these together? How did that leave your skin feeling? I tend to find if I have to use more than one or two things then my skin feels heavy and not fresh for the day
Oh no, nothing worse than having to clean off the cleanser because it’s greasy! Yes, I probably should have said I used them all together and it left my skin feeling fresh and not heavy at all 🙂
That’s good! I might have a look into them and see if they have some sample sizes to try first – it’s a bit pricey otherwise!
That’s a great idea!
