I always thought kedgeree was difficult to make. Of course, when I was younger, I didn’t actually know what it was. I just knew that it tasted good. When I found out it was just fish and rice, with some fragrant spices thrown in, I figured I’d give it a whirl.
Since trying courgetti spaghetti at Bella Italia, I’ve been dying to make my own. So when Savisto got in touch and asked if I wanted to test out one of their kitchens gadgets, I knew it had to be the Spiralizer.
I had loads of blog post ideas for this week, but ran out of time to write any. So while I was about to make dinner, inspiration struck; I could blog about it! Crisis well and truly averted. And luckily for me, it was quick, easy and tasted amazing! (And yes, I know my presentation is a bit, well, shit, but I’m not exactly applying for Masterchef! :D)

I like to think that I’m a pretty decent baker, I mean my cakes rise, they’re not dry and I don’t really burn things … But muffins? Jeez, I cannot for the life of me bake a decent bloody muffin! The last lot I made had the consistency of bread, looked liked cupcakes and tasted, well, pretty damn tasteless.
It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these and this is my first savoury recipe challenge! I absolutely love French onion soup, especially with the toasted bread and cheese on top!
This was the first year I’ve watched The Great British Bake-Off and found it fascinating and inspirational. It was J’s birthday in October and he wanted a Victoria sponge cake with jam and cream. I made him two cakes last year so this year I made his Victoria sponge and decided to try my hand at a Mary Berry cake!
