Staying Hydrated At Home*

I don’t know about you, but after my one, occasionally, two cups of coffee in the morning (at the weekends), I don’t generally tend to think about water until about dinnertime.

It’s such a bad habit that I’ve got into because I know I need to be drinking more water; especially as when I do remember, I only drink about a coffee mug’s worth! I’m not great at using water apps on my phone and I don’t have a bullet journal to help me.

So to help me remember to drink water throughout the day, I’ve been using this stunning tumbler* from Kate Spade. The pink is so bright and bold that it sits on my computer desk looking pretty and I keep staring at it, which then reminds me that I need to drink water 😀 Great thinking, huh?

I love the big slogan “eat cake for breakfast” written on it, because lets face it, who wouldn’t want to eat cake for breakfast every day? (I know I would!!) 🙂

The straw is made out of quite solid plastic (it’s not like your usual plastic straw you’d get at a takeout place) so I’m highly unlikely to break it which is great, because there’s nothing worse than trying to take a drink when there’s a hole in your straw. The other bonus being of course is that drinking from a straw means my lipstick doesn’t come off when I drink … Hmmm, maybe I should get one of these for work too??

The best part about the tumbler for me though is that it holds 20oz of fluid which is the equivalent to just over half a litre (or a pint for you imperial lovers out there!!) According to the scientists, and whoever else, you’re meant to drink roughly 2 litres (or 4 pints a day) but as I drink a pint of smoothie in the morning, a couple of coffees and have a drink in the evening with my dinner, I feel I only really need to finish this tumbler once throughout the day.

It’s insulated which helps to keep my drinks cold because I hate warm water!! You can’t put it in the dishwasher though, but it’s easy enough to clean. I also sometimes use it to put my morning smoothie in on Monday mornings and take to work with me so I’m not late!! (I’m one of those people who really struggles with Mondays so it saves me time in the morning because I’m not standing around for ages trying to drink my smoothie which is quite thick!) Once I get to work, I just rinse it out and take it home again ready for the weekend 🙂

And if this tumbler isn’t quite your style, Rooi.com have loads of other cute water bottles and tumblers. Like this gorgeous stripey one, also from Kate Spade or this cute pizza one from Ban.do. I think I’m obsessed with food!!

They also have quite a lot of other products from the Kate Spade range on the website as well; I’m currently lusting after the polka dot pitcher and glasses; they’d be perfect for summer Insta pics in the garden 🙂

How do you keep track of how much you’ve drunk during the day? Would you want to use one of these gorgeous products? Let me know in the comments below 🙂 x

  1. That tumbler looks great. I currently use a bobble filter bottle but they always get gunked up way too quickly with our hard water down here in Sussex. I might have to try a tumbler instead!

  2. That’s a gorgeous tumbler! I’m breastfeeding at the moment which makes me ridiculously thirsty all the time, i think I’ll have to invest in a pretty tumbler, such a good idea of yours to have it nearby looking all bright and tempting!

    1. Isn’t it just? Ahh, definitely a good idea to get one then!! 🙂 Plus the straw means you’re less likely to spill water on your little one!! 😀

    1. Aww, thanks Abbey 🙂 I absolutely love it and because it’s so big and bright, I never forget to drink out of it 🙂

  3. Ooh love this tumbler! I have a Joseph Dot Hydration Bottle (bought off Amazon). Every time you screw the cap back on after refilling it a new dot appears; the goal is to get 4 dots a day, that’s how much you should have drunk. It’s really helpful, and motivating!
