I absolutely love getting to hang out with some of my favourite Brighton people and Amy and Mickaela from Salon Success, so I was thrilled to get an invite to another dinner event; this time at Six in Hove! I’ve heard loads of good things about the restaurant, so I was excited I’d be trying it out for myself and getting to see the new products from Salon Success 😀
We had a large table in a back part of the restaurant and we were completely by ourselves!! The decor was absolutely divine; check out the beautiful ceiling of flowers!! Also attending the dinner was Tania, Lyndsay, Lilla, Eiva, India and Ashley ❤❤❤❤
We started off by having organic chicken satay with roasted peanuts, ginger, lemongrass and a chilli relish. There was a tofu option for vegetarians. It was really delicious and the sauce was amazing; however, I found the chicken a little dry for my liking.
A pappardelle bolognese was next; made with fresh flat pasta and an organic meat Bolognese sauce, finished with parmesan shavings. I really loved this and the pappardelle was made to perfection!! There was a purple gnocchi cooked in cherry tomatoes, sautéed courgettes & basil sauce available as a vegan dish.
For pudding we had the most incredible chocolate fondant with melting Belgian chocolate and a pistachio gelato on the side. It was absolutely divine and I ended up eating half of Tania’s as well 😀 (The photo is also courtesy of Tania, I’d eaten mine before I remembered to take a pic, oops!)
Of course, I can’t write a post without talking about all the amazing-looking Paul Mitchell products Amy and Mickaela brought with them that we got to take away with us to try!
First up were three products from the Tea Tree range.
The product that made me squeak with excitement was their lavender mint deep conditioning hair masks. Although I don’t heat on my hair that often, it still looks pretty fried, mostly because when it air drys, it frizzes up loads, so I’m excited to use these and see what happens to my hair. There are 6 sachets in a pack and they come in sachets to stop the clay drying out!
I also got a bottle of lavender mint deep leave-in conditioning spray; it smells gorgeous. I’m a massive fan of leave-in sprays because I’m too lazy to get back in the shower and wash it off again 😀
Lastly, I received a bottle of scalp care anti-thinning root lift foam for volumising and texturizing fine/thinning hair. My hair is actually pretty thick and full but I know a couple of people who might benefit from this, so I’ll let them try it out instead 🙂
We also got three products from the new Neuro Care range as well.
The Neuro Repair helps restore moisture to smooth and condition dehydrated hair. You apply to clean, damp hair and comb it through, leaving on for 3-5 minutes, then rinse it off and style!! It’s designed to give exceptional thermal protection and intensive repair to your hair 😀
The Neuro Lift is a volumising foam to add body, condition the hair and give a medium hold. It also protects the hair against heat damage from styling.
The Neuro Finish Style Spray targets humidity-driven frizz and tops off every look with a glossy shine. It helps to resist humidity and frizz for a perfect style every time by spraying on your hair after you’ve finished styling. I don’t own a finishing spray anymore so I’m excited to test this one out!
Finally, we all got a Vogetti Mighty Brush hairbrush. It’s meant to be perfect for backcombing as the bristles are all different lengths and it’s also great for smoothing the hairs down afterwards without brushing out the backcomb!!
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Six for having us and to Amy and Mickaela for organising another brilliant evening 🙂
Have you tried any Paul Mitchell products before? What are your favourite hair products to use? Let me know in the comments below 🙂 x
*I was invited by Salon Success to a meal at Six and given some goodies to take away and try but all views and love of hair products and food are my own.
