Outfit Of The Day #7 | The Autumn Boots

I have a story to tell about finding the right pair of boots for autumn! About a year ago, I bought a gorgeous pair of tan coloured boots from Debenhams. They fit really nicely and they look quite smart, with not too much of a heel on them. The only issue is that because they’re tan, they don’t go with anything I own. At all.

So I recently went on a mission to find the perfect pair of boots in black. This is a bit like my dungarees story, but thankfully much, much shorter!

I found a pair (well in truth, J found a pair online for me) that I thought I loved. They were a pair of black Kurt Geiger Carvela boots from Shoeaholics, down to £69 from £120 in the sale, but with a 20% off code floating around the internet and going through Topcashback* for 8% cash back, the boots would have cost me £50.79. Which isn’t too bad considering they were £120 to start with. Except that once I’d pick them up and tried them on I didn’t like them. They looked like wellies 🙁

So a few days later, I carried on my hunt for the perfect autumn boots and found these!! They’re by Joe Browns (the same brand as my winter coat) and look super stylish and a bit sexy. They also do them in brown, if you’re interested.

There are a few places online that sell these boots, including; Joe Browns and Debenhams, where they’re about £55-£59, but I got mine from Very, where they were originally £60.

Of course, I went through Topcashback first so I could get 12% cash back on my purchase and then signed up for a Very credit account to get a 20% off code! This meant these gorgeous boots only actually cost me £42.24 because Very also do free delivery to various Collect+ stores round the UK 😀

(Be aware though that if you don’t pay your Very balance on time, or you only pay off the minimum monthly amount, they will charge you 39.9% APR. Bastards!! I’d only recommend buying from Very if you actually have the funds to pay!)

Putting all that aside though, I absolutely love my new boots ♥ ♥ I have quite wide feet, but they’re really comfy and I didn’t need to size up at all. The heel is a bit higher than I wanted but I’m sure I’ll get used to the extra height pretty quickly 😀

The boots are nicely snug around the calf but not too much, so I can still wear skinny jeans underneath them 🙂 The buckle around the top and the laces are adjustable though, so if you do find they’re tight, you can always loosen these first. Luckily I don’t need to undo the laces every time I wear them as the boots actually zip up at the side!!

I teamed the boots with this awesome skeleton top from H&M (£6.99 – bloody bargain, especially as it glows in the dark!), a basic black circular skirt from H&M (£12.99) and these gorgeous flowery tights from Charnos** (because the weather isn’t warm enough for no tights, but too cold for no tights at all, it’s the perfect compromise!!)

Do you have a pair of autumn boots yet? Where did you get yours from? Let me know in the comments below 🙂

*If you sign up to Topcashback using my affiliate link, I will earn £5 if you earn £10 payable cash back or more.
**These tights were kindly sent to me by Charnos but views, and legs, are my own.

  1. You look gorgeous Holly, the boots are a little different and I love that about them. They really suit you! I noticed the tights straight away too. I always struggle to find a pair of boots, I tend to choose ankle boots but quite often I end up looking like Max Wall as my legs are really skinny!

    1. Thank you so much!! Although I love ankle boots, I don’t feel confident wearing them with skirts and dresses; it’s gotta be a pair of knee high boots for me!! 🙂 xx

  2. I love these boots! You’ve put a great outfit together, I’m going to have to check out H&M, I very rarely go in there but love that skeleton top!

  3. They are so pretty! What a find!! I used to have a Very account but I ended up buying when I didn’t have the money, bad habit. So paid it off and closed it before I went off travelling. Excellent jumper too, very cool!
