Outfit Of The Day #1 | A Good Winter Coat

I’m pretty sure that fashion posts and outfits of the day won’t be a regular feature on my blog. I have no idea about what looks good, what shape I am and which colours go together well, but I absolutely love my new coat and wanted to share how pretty it is with you all!! 🙂

I was over on the Isle of Wight for a few days after Christmas and had gone into Ryde with my mum and dad so I could not only see some of the lovely ladies I used to work with but also head up the pier to get the ferry back to Portsmouth. Mum and Dad had gone shopping while I’d popped into my old workplace for a quick catch up.

Once I’d finished, I went to the car but my parents hadn’t come back yet, so while I was waiting for them, I found myself drawn to a little shop near the end of Union Street called Bellissima. I was immediately taken by the shop dummy wearing a beautiful coat so I went in for a closer inspection and discovered it was made by Joe Browns! I had no idea the Isle of Wight was capable of being trendy 😛

I absolutely had to try it on, despite only having about twenty minutes to get to the end of the pier to make the ferry! I tried it on and fell in love, but suddenly realised I’d left my bag and luggage in the car and I didn’t have the keys to get back in 🙁

One quick call to my mum later and she joined me with my purse. I tried on the coat to show her and she agreed it was beautiful. Less than 15 minutes later, I was boarding the ferry back to Portsmouth with my new coat and £70 lighter! It’s been such a long time since I’ve treated myself to some new clothes, and when I do, they’re normally cheap things from Primark!! (Not that there’s anything wrong with Primark, but this coat should last for a few seasons!)

I love that all the buttons are different styles and the skirt has a slight flare to it. I think it makes me look quite hour-glassed 🙂 There’s an extra button at the top so you can put up the collar and it stays up (it kind of makes me think of Sherlock’s coat!) The lining is a gorgeous green with beautiful flowers across it which makes me think of spring 🙂 I’m definitely going to be wearing this coat all season and I’m already sad thinking of when I’ll have to put it away in the wardrobe until Autumn 🙁

I feel so totally awkward in these photos but I wanted to get out of my comfort zone this year and try new things. You also get a sneak peek of the new garden before the proper post goes up!

What do you think of the coat? What’s your style? Let me know in the comments below 🙂 x
