Our Photowall Canvas Print*

The thing about living in a house that we’re still renovating is that we’ve not really bothered with hanging anything up on the walls (apart from mirrors) because putting up prints seems like such a finishing touch kind of project.

But when Photowall got in touch with me I thought it would be a great opportunity to convince J that we needed to start collecting prints and photos for the walls so that we have something to put up anyway!

I knew that I wanted a canvas print photo of me and J because we only have a couple of photos of us in frames round the house, which is lovely but you can’t really see them!

I asked J to help me and we spent absolutely ages trying to choose which photo we wanted. I was really keen on this photo. It was taken at my best friend Charlie’s wedding to her husband Chris, and I love the memories associated with it, plus we look finnnnnne ♥️♥️♥️

However, when J and I went through the photos of us together, we were both drawn to a photo that J took of us on Valentine’s Day 2014 at Disneyland Paris! It’s perfect and I love that our heads almost make a heart shape!! As it’s a slightly more intimate photo, we decided we wanted it to go up in our bedroom 🙂

Then it was time to create our canvas print 🙂 The website was really easy to navigate and they have several options for prints if you don’t have your own. You can also create wallpaper, posters and framed prints.

Once the photo was uploaded, I was given a maximum size restriction because the image resolution was too low, oops. Luckily the maximum size I could pick was perfect for the spot we wanted it in (700mm x 600mm). Plus I love that they won’t just send you a blurry photo!!!

You can also edit the photo if you want but we kept ours as it was. We chose to have a black edge because having the image wrapped round looked too weird for our canvas and we didn’t want a white edge.

I placed the order and it was super quick to arrive; I ordered on the 2nd February and the canvas arrived from Sweden on the 5th February!!

The canvas came rolled up in a tube for safety.

It also came with four separate bits of frame, brackets, some screws and a metal bit to hang it up on the wall (plus a couple of screws and rawl plugs for the wall.) We had a slight setback as two of the frame pieces but I really quickly received a replacement 😀😀

It was really easy to put together. Mostly because I asked J to do it while I took photos of the stages lol 😂😂 J put the print face down on a towel to keep it safe and arranged the wooden frame around the edges. There are sticky strips on the underside of the wooden frame that you peel off so you can stick the frame to the canvas.

Once all the frame edges are stuck down, turn them in and use the brackets and screws to secure them together!

Now to put the print up on the wall ♥️♥️♥️ I chose this spot as we already had a screw in the wall, but I think at some point we’re going to move it so it’s above our bed 🙂
