Packing proved difficult as I had no idea if we were going somewhere hot, cold, or spending all our time indoors or outdoors etc. All J would say was I should probably take jumpers, a coat and a bikini. Β I guessed we were going somewhere in Europe as we were only going for a few days. The night before we were due to arrive, he kept his phone pretty much glued to his hand which really annoyed me! He said he was chatting to one of our mates, Rez, and I joked that he’d better not be coming along too!
We set off really early the next day to the train station and I still had no idea where we were going. I did notice the train we were getting on was going to St Pancras though, so I wondered if we were taking the Eurostar. When we got on the train, J quickly disappeared to the toilet and took ages, so I peered down the carriage to see if I could spot him. I spotted him chatting to someone, and realised it was Rez. My heart sank. I thought he’d arranged a romantic getaway for the two of us … and our friend. It put me in a bad mood for a while as I have set ideas of romance and hanging out with a third person isn’t high up on the list!
When we got off the train at St Pancras, Rez was nowhere to be seen and I felt relieved but still somewhat suspicious! I mentioned to J about how bringing a friend on holiday would be awful and he started getting flustered and nervous. As we got to the top of the elevator, two of our other friends, Gemma and Rich (who were a couple) were standing there waiting for us! I suddenly twigged that J hadn’t invited Rez as a weird couple + one holiday, he’d actually invited two other couples along (as his girlfriend at the time, Steph was there too!) π It turned out that J, Rez and Rich had organised absolutely everything and had kept me, Steph and Gemma completely in the dark!! (I did later apologise for being a grumpy mare!)
Once we’d all got over the surprise, we headed towards the Eurostar (at least I was right about that!) We had to change trains a couple of times and at one point the guys said we had to get on a coach for about 3 hours! When we left the train station to go and get the coach, we were really confused, because there was a massive sign saying DISNEYLAND! It probably took at least a minute for it to sink in that that’s actually where they were taking us!!
We stayed in the New York, New York hotel for 4 nights which was absolutely incredible. Our room was massive and we had a pool in the hotel as well. The best part was it was only a short walk to the park π I absolutely loved seeing the castle for the first time. In fact, everything at Disneyland is just so beautiful π
On the first day we managed to catch the Disney Stars and Motor Cars parade; some of the cars looked awesome, check out the Aladdin car!! I even got to see SulleyΒ β₯
We also watched Disney Stars on Parade later that day. I was so excited as I got to see some of my favourite Disney characters including; Aurora, Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, and, the big man himself, Mickey Mouse β₯
We then all stayed in the park to watch the evening show, which was absolutely magicalΒ β₯β₯
The next day, we all headed to the Toon Studio to go on the rides. J and I caught up with Mike Wazowski and Rex!
We also managed to get some pics with real characters; including two of my favourites, Stitch and Remy β₯
I attempted to do some shopping, although I only bought the Tigger gloves in the end π
We went on every single ride in the park. I definitely wasn’t a fan of the Tower of Terror at all, and refused to go on it a second time, but I really loved Big Thunder Mountain. On our last day, we went on Rock ‘N’ Rollercoaster a couple of times before having to leave the park to start the journey home.
We ate in different places each night; one of my favourites was King Ludwig’s pub which had a medieval theme and massive tankards of beer!
On Valentine’s Day, J and I spent the day alone together and he surprised me with a hand-blown glass rose from Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. We went on Big Thunder Mountain several times and in the evening, we went to the Rainforest CafΓ© for dinner <3
It was such a magical holiday and Disney was so much fun! Maybe one day if he feels up to it, we’ll go back there π *hint hint*
