My Blogging Set-Up

I’m always really intrigued to see other bloggers set-ups, and when I say really intrigued, what I actually mean is that I’m a teeny tinyย bit jealous of all the bloggers who have gorgeous offices with lovely big desks and inspirational quotes and artwork on the walls and beautiful shelves with copper terrariums and cute little plants everywhere.ย Okay, I might be very jealous, but maybe one day when we actually finish the house *HINT* I can have my own room or at least a bit of space in a room ๐Ÿ˜€

So today I thought I’d show you what it looks like behind the scenes for me ๐Ÿ™‚

This is the lounge and our big squishy leather sofa where I write my all blog posts and edit photos. In fact, I’m sitting there/here right now typing this. Weird.ย The only difference is I have aย  caffeine-free diet cola next to me on one side, plus a cat and a J on the other side! Mr Bear is currently squashed right up against my arm, making it oh so fun to try and type this!

Blogging-Space

I take a lot of my photos in the bathroom because there’s a lot of natural light most of the day. We have a south facing house so the back rooms gets most of the sunshine. Which is annoying because the lounge and dining room are at the front of the house!! I also use the bathroom because J decided that he was going to have fake marble tiles in his bathroom (long before I met him).ย  They’re awesome for using as the background for blog photos. Even better, J had some left over so I use a flat one as a photo base as well!

So that’s it really, it’s not much but it’s my little haven where I can write and learn new skills and interact with you allย ๐Ÿ™‚ย I hope I haven’t destroyed the magic too much!

  1. I’m quite jealous too of some people’s perfect set ups! I tend to roam around the house doing mine, finding any place that slightly matches the theme of the post but I always write from my bed ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Oh I know that feeling; moving everything around to get the perfect photo ๐Ÿ˜€ thank you for sharing xx

  2. I’d love a nice office with white everything & great lighting to take photos. My reality is sitting on my sofa, with my laptop on a little table, usually plugged into an extension lead! I either take photos in my bathroom because the natural lighting in our house is awful due to the rather ‘quirky’ shape & angles of the room. If I’m able to, I like to use my parent’s conservatory, but that’s not always practical. It’s great to see a behind the scenes of what I imagine the majority of us have as our blogging behind-the-scenes! Xx

    1. It’s nice to know a lot of people are in the same boat ๐Ÿ˜Š I like blogging on the sofa because it means I can spend time with my boyfriend, rather than being in another room for hours; that being said, I’d still love a desk ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ xx

    1. I know, I always imagine a proper blogger’s studio or something with a big white desk and amazing backgrounds ๐Ÿ˜€ x

  3. The magic is certainly not lost at all. I sit on my couch with my laptop too, I’d love a desk but our house is pretty small so we make-do ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Oh the walls in the lounge aren’t white … well they are, kind of, but they desperately need painting!!
Yes, the tiles are a blogger’s dream! To think J installed them before we’d even met <3
Yay, I'm glad you liked the post lovely ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

  4. I’m jealous of your setup as well! Unfortunately my bathroom is small and has no natural light ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜‚. And you also have a professional camera, which I’m trying to work on. But I’m glad it works for you. I hope you upgrade to your own private studio soon!

    1. Awww, I guess everyone is different. I’m lucky that my boyfriend lets me use his camera or I’d be using my phone. I hope you get your camera soon x

  5. I had a beauty room which once I got pregnant turned into a nursery. Can’t wait to do a new set up in my new house at the moment mines like yours the couch and wherevers got light!

  6. Pretty much the same as mine. My laptop is normally just situated on my coffee table in the lounge and photos are just taken as and when, though I don’t seem to take many at all recently! My laptop’s on it’s last legs too so it takes an age to do anything. So hardly the ‘blogger life’ lol!

    1. I’m glad everyone’s setup seems as glamorous as mine ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ oh no, poor laptop ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ anything you can do? X

  7. I love seeing behind the scenes of where people blog, don’t worry I’m sure most people don’t *really* have spacious desks with vibrant natural lighting (even at night time.. haha). I am currently sitting on my dining room table surrounded in Star Wars lego models, parcels and even an old microwave that is waiting to go to the tip. Haha, NOT the dreamy set up I hoped for, but it’s comfy and it works for me ๐Ÿ™‚

My photo set up is on our spare room floor, I have some spare floor tiles from our bedroom floor that work perfectly. Annoyingly I can’t use our main bedroom (that actually has the white flooring) as the light is so dark so I turf my spare floor tiles upstairs ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Ahaha sounds like you’re making it work for you though! I keep moving the spare tiles around too, depends where the light is!! Thanks for sharing your blogging setup ๐Ÿ˜Š x

  8. I’m so jealous of all the bloggers with perfect desk set ups too and so much natural light. </3 I swear my house just repels light haha!

Your fake marble tiles are perfect! I love seeing where people actually write and take their photos etc ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. I get so jealous of all the bloggers with their own offices too! Sadly we only have a two bedroom house (only, how ungrateful do I sound right now?!) and no room for a home office. So, similar to you really, I blog on my sofa. I have a fold up table and a lap tray for my ‘desks.’ Photo wise, depends on the time of day. The back of the house, the kitchen, has good natural light for most of it and big french doors so I often take my photos there. But sometimes the bedroom has better light, or the hallway! Haha. Love this post, I’m super nosy! Haha. x http://www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x

    1. Ahaha. I know the feels. We have a three but one is a junk room and we converted one to the dining room where my boyfriend’s desk is!
Your set up sounds effective though, I love French doors, so good for lighting! Thank you for sharing ๐Ÿ™‚ x
