My Blog Goals 2017

I thought I’d get this one in early because last year I left it quite late, and I didn’t write my blog goals until November, oops!

If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, it’s basically just a list of blog-related goals that I want to achieve in 2017. Then at the end of the year, I look back at this list and see how I’ve got on! πŸ™‚

  • Reach 10,000 on Twitter – I was going to put a more realistic figure of around 7,000 but you know what? Go hard or go home. I’m a delight on Twitter so why wouldn’t you want to follow me? πŸ˜€ (you can follow me hereΒ in case you’re not already).
  • Reach 1,500 on Instagram – As InstagramΒ is my slowest growing account I feel like this is more realistic, although in all honesty, I’d love to hit 2,000 by December. We’ll just have to see though!
  • Have 1,000 Bloglovin’ followersBloglovin‘ is so weird because not only can you follow a blog, you can follow a person as well. So overall, I have over a 1,000 followers but only 560 (ish) are from the blog. So ideally, I want 1,000 following my blog πŸ™‚ Please and thank you!
  • Start using PinterestΒ properly – I have an account but I rarely ever use it. I need to start pinning my own blog pics on there and find inspiration from other pins!
  • Go to more blog events – I definitely want to do a lot more of this because at the end of last year, I wasn’t feeling too well and had to cancel on a few πŸ™ Here’s hoping that my health is better this year!
  • Be more active on Twitter – I started to become slightly lazy last year and although I scheduled loads of promo tweets, I kept forgetting to actually engage with people! This will definitely change in 2017.
  • Think about creating a Facebook page for my blog – This seems to be quite a popular option but it does mean having to keep up another social media account and to be honest, it might be a bit too much. I’ll have to see how it goes!
  • Stay organised – I did really well last year, in December I used Google Keep to create a note to keep track of which posts I wanted to publish and in what order. It seemed to really help me and I became more organised at photographing blog pics and editing them too! Long may this continue!!
  • Contact some brands to work with – I was really lucky last year as I got quite a few emails and DMs asking if I wanted to review products or collab on sponsored posts, but I feel that I could push this further if I actually go out looking for the opportunities!
  • See more of my current blogging friends – I made some great friends through blogging last year and I’d love to keep up with them all, but drinking coffee or hanging out as opposed to just seeing them at blog events!
  • Make sure I still enjoy blogging – I think this is the most important one of all. It’s really easy to set goals and push yourself to achieving them, but if you’re not enjoying yourself, what’s the point?

By the way, the cute af notebook in my blog pic is from Jemma’s Etsy. You can grab your own one here. She’s not paying me to say that by the way, although I wish she was!! πŸ˜€

  1. I have seen a ton of posts about personal goals, but I absolutely love the idea of having a post dedicated to blog goals. It is a great way to keep yourself accountable for what you want in life. I am glad that your last goal was to make sure you still enjoy it. I think that is the most important one of all of them!

  2. Fab goals for 2017! It’s great to see someone else talking about numerical goals on their blog for 2017 as not many people do, but it’s getting more common now – I talked about it on my blog yesterday too πŸ™‚ I’ve followed you in a few places now, so hopefully helped you a bit on your way πŸ˜€

  3. I haven’t bothered with a Facebook account either yet, mainly because I’ve heard lots of people say they find it hard to grow a following on there and also because I don’t know if I can be bothered to manage another social media account! x

  4. Good luck with your goals – I am sure you will meet them.

I also wish to attend more blogging events. I think it would be so good and help to improve my own blog and learn about other bloggers’ ways of doing things too.

  5. These are some amazing goals!! You should definitely look into creating a Facebook page. It will bring in so much traffic to your blog! I also need to go to more blog events. I hope you had an amazing New Year. Sending many well wishes to you and your family for the upcoming year <3 xoxo.

    1. I’ve had so many mixed comments about having a FB page, I might try and work on Pinterest first, then get one later in the year!
Going to more events is a great goal πŸ™‚ Hope you had a lovely Christmas/New Year and have an amazing 2017!! x

  6. When I set up a Facebook page, I found at first I hardly bothered with it. I still don’t, to be honest, unless I have something exciting to share like my recent blog makeover. But I do have my IG posts shared to FB Page automatically so at least it stays active that way. And I do get some engagement from it. Bloglovin’ frustrates me so much with the option to follow people. Whenever someone follows me, and not my blog, I mentally go “that’s nice, but I’d rather you followed my blog” haha! Great goals – good luck. s

    1. Ah, I might look into that then. I just don’t know if I can be bothered. Maybe I’ll work on Pinterest instead πŸ˜€

I know, it’s so annoying, I’d rather there was just the option to follow the blogs as well!!

  7. These are really good goals. I’ve a few but I’ve written them into my blog planner. I need to get a few yearly goals so I’ve an overall big ass goal to aim at πŸ™‚ More events and catching up! Facebook is a pain in the ass, just so you’re warned. Much effort required. I also need to get onto the pinterest train more, I’m slowly getting there. I’m a bit all over the shop atm, more organising so I can focus a bit better! Smell ya later girl

    1. Yeah, I’m kinda putting myself off Facebook to be honest. Maybe if I grow my other accounts first, it might be easier! Good luck with your yearly goals and see you soon hopefully.

    1. I just don’t know if I can be bothered to keep up another account!
Good luck with your goals, I’m sure you’ll get them πŸ™‚ x

  8. I need to be more active on twitter as well! I’m only just very new to it but hopefully it’ll get easier once I learn how to use it

    1. Have you joined in any Twitter chats yet? They’re a great way of meeting new people, interacting and finding new blogs to read πŸ™‚ x
