Jingle And Mingle 2017*

Last year I was invited to the Jingle and Mingle event, hosted by Mickaela and Amy from Salon Success.  Unfortunately I was too ill to attend and I was absolutely gutted, although they did very kindly sent me out a goody bag ♥ and I wrote a post about the amazing goodies I received.

This year I was invited again and was determined to make it!

Salon Success are a company who distribute professional hair care and beauty products in the UK and they kindly all invited us for an early Christmas dinner and to check out some of the latest hair care products on the market 😀

Held in the basement at The Old Ship Hotel in Brighton, it was the perfect setting for a really intimate event.  We started out with drinks and I met the other bloggers, some I already knew and some I didn’t.

We then went through to the dining area and were treated to an amazing three course Christmas dinner!!  For starters we had a butternut squash soup with garlic croutons which was absolutely delicious.

A traditional turkey dinner followed; complete with sprouts and pigs in blankets!!

The pièce de résistance though had to be the sticky toffee pudding, topped with popcorn!!  It was so delicious that I ended up finishing Tania’s and Maria’s! Oops!

We then got down to business and checked out the products they’d brought along to show us.  First up was the Awapuhi trio from Paul Mitchell.  I was given the thickening set, but as my hair’s already pretty full, I swapped mine with Maria for the Mirrorsmooth set.

Complete with a shampoo, conditioner and a high gloss primer, the Mirrorsmooth collection is designed to hydrate whilst protecting against frizz and flyaways!  I honestly can’t wait to try these out as my hair has become a little wild and unmanageable of late!

The second set of products were from Kenra Professional.  I was given some products from the Platinum collection; including a Revive shampoo and conditioner which are perfect for strengthening hair!  They’re also completely colour-safe and don’t contain any parabens or sulfate.  I was also kindly given a hot spray and a some firm hold hairspray!! I’ve not owned hairspray for years so I was really chuffed to get one and I can’t wait to give it a go 😀

I also got a bottle of Gem Lites colorwash in Citrine (pale blonde).  This one is designed to bring out the pale blonde tones on natural blonde, highlights and balayage hair.  We were told that when you use this product, it instantly but subtly tones hair and leaves it looking fresh, nourished and smooth!!  As someone who’s felt too dizzy to go and have my hair coloured for the past few months, I’m excited to use this product to see what happens to the blonde in my hair!!

Finally I was very kindly gifted the most incredible brush in the history of brushes; the Marula oil detangling brush from Paul Mitchell!!  I’ve used this non-stop since I got it.  It’s designed to gently detangle whilst minimising breakage and it’s designed for wet or dry hair!  It’s honestly one of the gentlest, most glorious brushes I have ever used; especially as I brush my hair a lot when it’s wet!

What are your favourite hair care products to use? Have you ever tried any of the ones mentioned in the blog post? Let me know in the comments below 🙂 x

  1. I like the sound of the Kenra range, using constant heat on my hair can be so damaging, even with heat protection.Sometimes you need that extra bit of protection and strength, glad you had a lovely time at the event.x

    1. Tell me about it, I used to absolutely fry my hair, but I try and let it dry naturally now, except when I blow dry it before bed because it’s still wet lol xx
