Getting Lippy With Smashbox*

Last weekend the We Are Thirty Plus group were all invited up to the Smashbox* Headquarters in London to check out their new lipstick range; Be Legendary which boasts an astounding 120 different shades to choose from!

I went up with Áine (who made a vlog about it and I feature in it, so worth checking out just for that. I honestly wish she’d learn to film my best side though!)

I was expecting a small shop with a few of their products on display, but Smashbox in London is so much more than that. They have a dedicated photography studio with video facilities where you can go and take photos and videos with all the ring lights! I took loads of photos to show you. On Instagram stories. And promptly forgot to save any of them! I’m gutted!

Although, I do have this one of Áine and Sharon getting their lips done with the photography studio in the background!

There were so many beautiful colours to choose from.

One of the lovely girls at Smashbox took me around and started picking out lipsticks she was thinking of trying out on me, but when I saw the blue, I knew I had to go for it! It’s not a colour I’d usually choose for myself, but it seemed silly to play it safe and go for a nude or red when I own so many already!

Áine also opted for a dark lip and I think we both rocked them pretty well!

We were also very kindly given goody bags which had two of their matte liquid lipsticks in; I got Bawse (a vivid red shade) and Stepping Out (a pinky brown) and one of the new Be Legendary lipsticks in the shade Headliner (an orangey shade). We were also told that the lip colour we’d tried on that dat were going to be sent out to us, I was really excited because I absolutely fell in love with Skinny Jeans 🙂

Here’s what they all look like on. From L-R: Bawse, Stepping Out and Headliner. I wasn’t sure about Headliner or Stepping Out to start with but I think both have grown on me massively!

What’s your favourite lipstick colour to wear? Would you dare to go bold? Let me know in the comments below 🙂 x

    1. So it’s for bloggers who are over 30, but it’s not exclusive, you can join if you’re under, but a lot of the opportunities are aimed at the older bloggers (skincare etc)
Thank you 🙂 I’d love to try a grey lip! x

  2. Oh my that is a lot of red lipsticks, I wouldn’t know where to start. I don’t do well at lips, I only bought my first mac lipstick in July and have only worn it once cos it’s so out there for me. It’s only a red, but when you don’t normally wear anything it looks a bold in the mirror!

    1. My best tip with that is to wear it round the house. All the time! That way you’ll soon get used to it, and when you go outside wearing it, you won’t feel that anyone is looking at you because you’ll feel confident wearing it 🙂 x

  3. I admire anyone who is able to find right lipstick colour… I haven’t been able to do it for over 20 years, therefore I stick natural colour lip crayon for the outline and colourless lipbalms.

    1. I’d definitely recommend asking for advice 🙂 I’d never have gone for a blue normally, but I was told it would suit me … and it did!! 🙂 x
