Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater & Pink Peppercorn*

If you’d said 10 years ago that I’d be interested in hand creams and body lotions, I would have probably laughed in your face.  I mean, I did the occasional leg moisturising before a big date, but that was about it.

I used to get hand creams in my Christmas stockings and they were ungratefully shoved in a drawer until well past their use by dates and, once found years later, unceremoniously dumped in the bin.Nowadays, I’d be made up if someone got me hand and body lotions because, now I’m in my thirties, my skin has started to change.  I now get sexy dry patches on my hands in the winter, plus my elbows and knees seem to be in a state of permanent dryness.  It’s so sexy, honestly!

One of the brands I’ve always known about, mostly thanks to my mum, is Crabtree & Evelyn.  They’ve been around since 1972 and have stores all across the UK and the rest of the world.

They also happen to have a store in Brighton who very kindly sent me some of their new range; Rosewater & Pink Peppercorn (although it isn’t actually a peppercorn, it’s actually a berry and full of antioxidants), which has been designed purely for hydration, to try 😀

My good friends will know that I’m pretty particular about scents and what I like, so I was a little apprehensive about being sent products I’d not had the chance to smell before.  When they arrived, I could smell the products even through the padded envelope they’d arrived in, but I needn’t have worried because the scent of the Rosewater & Pink Peppercorn is so incredibly beautiful.

The main fragrance is definitely the rosewater, it’s a very sweet floral fragrance and a lot lighter than your average rose-scented products.  Once the product is applied to skin, the spice of the pink peppercorn becomes apparent and the two scents combined leave a beautifully light, refreshing aroma.  I honestly can’t stop smelling my skin when I use them.

So, what did I get and what did I think?

Hydrating Hand Recovery (£8 for 25 ml) – I thought this was going to be a hand cream, but it’s actually a scrub!!  You can either use it on dry or damp hands, massaging it into skin and washing off afterwards.  The product can be used up to three times a week for greatest effect and hydrates whilst ridding skin of dead skin cells!!  The scrub is a little coarser than I’m used to, but it made it very effective.  My hands feel really soft and smooth and they definitely look better after I use it.  The only downside is that the scrub doesn’t really have a smell to it, which is a little disappointing 🙁

Hydrating Body Wash (£5 for 50 ml) – Although the website says to use this body wash in the morning for an invigorating lift, I’m more of a shower at night kind of girl.  The body wash lathered up really well and the scent lingered in the shower long after I got out ♥  My skin definitely felt glorious after my shower and it was a lot less flaky than normal after I’d dried off (soz about the details 🤢🤢)

Hydrating Body Cream (£5 for 50 ml) – This powerful little body cream also contains olive oil, Shea butter and evening primrose oil for a hydration boost.  Skin is meant to be left feeling supple and plump (whatever the hell that means) afterwards.  This body cream not only smells gorgeous, it really moisturises my skin well, even those hard to hydrate areas like my knees and elbows!!

Hydrating Hand Therapy (£8 for 25 ml)  – This daily hand cream contains Shea butter and macadamia seed oil that moisturises.  I love that it’s handbag size so I can take it with me on the go!  It works really well and doesn’t leave my hands feeling greasy.  The formula sinks in pretty fast and leaves my hands looking and feeling soft and nourished!!

Would I repurchase anything? (Okay, I know I didn’t buy these in the first place, but you know what I mean!!)

Unfortunately I can’t find any information about Crabtree & Evelyn being vegetarian, vegan or cruelty-free.  If I could find evidence they were, I’d definitely buy the hand therapy again as I was really impressed by it!  While I’d also want to buy the body cream again, I’m pretty shit when it comes to a daily body routine and I’d probably forget to use it 😂😂

  1. I’ve had a little look and it says it’s sold in Hong Kong, so I’m assuming not CF! Such a shame, I’d love to try the hand scrub

  2. I’ve never tried their products before or heard of them to be honest! I find I have very dry skin in the Winter especially on my hands, elbows and randomly, my forehead. I’ll have to try their hand cream out.
