While watching some random YouTube videos a couple of weeks ago, it recommended a YouTuber called Cherry Wallis. If you’ve not heard of her before, I’d definitely recommend checking her out. She not only has a lot of Harry Potter related videos, but loads of SFX makeup videos which I was absolutely enthralled by. It looked really fun, so I decided I wanted to try some of the looks for myself. Unfortunately I didn’t own any SFX stuff at all, so I bought a few things from Treasure House of Makeup.
I’ve also been admiring Hayley’s (TeaPartyBeauty) Instagram feed because her Halloween SFX makeup is just fab!!
*disclaimer* If you don’t like seeing bruises and scars, this post probably isn’t for you ♥
To be honest, when I got a NUTRIBULLET*, I thought I’d make a couple of smoothies and it would go in the cupboard to die. You know, like the rest of the crazy fads we all own; the toastie maker which is great till you have to clean it, the random popcorn maker you got one Christmas because you’re “difficult to buy for” and the good old cafetiere that no one has time for. Because hello kettle!
I didn’t expect that for the past month, J and I would actually be using it every day!
Wafflemeister* is Brighton’s newest (and family-run franchise) delight; selling sweet and savoury waffles and crepes along with a healthy dose of gelato. Situated at the top of West Street, it’s perfect for tourists heading down to the beach or locals wanting to refresh after a hard morning’s shopping.
I went down to the opening to check it out with some other bloggers and press and damn they put on a good spread!
Since trying courgetti spaghetti at Bella Italia, I’ve been dying to make my own. So when Savisto* got in touch and asked if I wanted to test out one of their kitchens gadgets, I knew it had to be the Spiralizer.
This is one of my newest favourite recipes; mostly because it takes so little time to do and it tastes absolutely amazing!!
Due to J’s chronic fatigue, we don’t often indulge in date nights any more, but when Señor Buddha* got in touch and asked if we wanted to sample their menu, we dressed up and headed over; J wore a smart shirt and did his hair and I wore a dress!
When I went to the US in 2011, Pinkberry* was everywhere. So it was disappointing that the UK didn’t have any. Until now. They now have a UK flagship store in Islington, London and I went up to check them out on their opening day.
*side story* Before I even got there, I had a bit of a catastrophe. I was all for wearing my jeans until I stepped outside two hours before heading to the train station to find that it was boiling hot outside. I own the total of two pairs of shorts; one are massive and look hideous and the other are a lil bit too tight (they’re a size 8 and it turns out I am not.) So I hot-footed to Next, tried on ALL the shorts and picked up a pair I really liked. And two tops. I really like them so an OOTD might appear soon. When it’s stopped raining. Thanks England, you da best! Anyway…
I love cake; Victoria sponge, chocolate cake, lemon drizzle, you name it, I’ll be up for eating it! So when Bakerdays* got in touch and asked if I wanted to review their latest idea; the letterbox cake, I couldn’t really say no, could I?
Word seems to have got out that Bear is a little pro cat blogger. Would that make him a #cblogger? Anyway, after his foray into the world of food sampling, he’s now testing out the latest technology from Surefeed; a motion sensor cat food bowl! It’s totally gone to his head and he’s demanding his own blog! I don’t think so buddy!
A couple of months ago I went to my first Brighton blog meet and in my goody bag were two samples of Mintycoco; the coconut oil-pulling formula with peppermint which is for “leaving your mouth feeling fresh, your teeth looking whiter and your gums healthy.” I decided to give it a go….
