This summer I’ve been in the garden quite a lot. Unfortunately not sunbathing and relaxing, but digging holes and building walls. Oh, and that one day where me, J and my brother attempted to have a BBQ and it wouldn’t stop spitting with rain but we stayed out anyway because we’re quintessentially British 😀
It’s also been a really weird couple of weeks where the weather has been really humid with loads of cloud and not much actual sunshine.
I absolutely adore lipsticks (after not owning or wearing any for years) and honestly can’t get enough of them; nudes, brights, darks, mattes and glosses, you name it, I’ve got it!
I’m always on the look out for new ones but I rarely have time to browse for hours as there are so many to choose from!!
I’ve always wanted to try an electronic face cleanser but, if I’m being totally honest, I’ve always been scared to spend that much money on something I’m not sure I’d use all the time! Plus the fact that some of them look downright scary with overly complicated instructions and they recommend that you should buy the company’s own brand special cleanser to use with it (which always costs a lot!) and then some just look remarkably like “intimate massagers”!
I absolutely love dry shampoo; it’s probably one of the best things that’s ever happened to the beauty world (apart from highlighters) and I couldn’t ever be without it. I’ve tried loads of different ones over the years from those cheap ones that cost about £1 to one that set me back a whopping £22!! (In my defence though, it smelt absolutely incredible, but I shan’t ever be spending that much again!)
The one that I’ve been reaching for all the time for the last few months though this little beauty from Style Freedom!
When I was really young, I was a proper little blond haired girl! As I grew up, it started getting darker and by about 7, I became a pretty non-descript “mousey brown”.
Over the years, my hair’s been black, red, blue, and pink. But in the last year or so, I’ve gone back to being blonde. And I have to say I’m absolutely loving it! I still have my brown roots though as I wanted more of a “natural” balayage look and it seems to suit my skin tone quite well!
If you couldn’t tell from the title and the photo above, it’s currently National Smile Month (which is running from 15 May – 15 June 2017). So to celebrate, I’ve been trying out a couple of products to help my smile look brighter and whiter and I wanted to share them, and the results, with you!
Well that sounds a bit scientific, doesn’t it? It’s not though I promise, and because Superdrug have done all the science for you, you just get to play Master (or Mistress) Perfumer to your heart’s content!
Do you remember in my last Smashbox post where I said there was a going to be an exciting new launch but it had been delayed? Well I can announce, if you haven’t seen it already, that it’s finally here!! Yup, Smashbox have now brought out a new range of their Be Legendary Lipsticks, but this time, it’s a metals collection. A couple of weeks ago, I went along with Aine and Ali to Boots in Brighton to have a play with the gorgeous new shades.
Since I’ve started on a different contraceptive (the injection) and new medication for my vertigo, my skin has absolutely gone to pot. It’s been left looking incredibly dull with gorgeous blotchy red bits and some lovely little patches of acne. Thanks skin, you da best! So I went searching for some products to help my skin look and feel better!
It’s not exactly news that my eyebrows are barely there and I have to fill them in with pencil. Mostly because I over-plucked them heavily in the 90s, but a little bit because I’ve realised that I actually inherited thin brows from my mum’s side of the family. Thanks genetics!!
It might be news though, that when I was born, I had absolutely no eyelashes at all. Not even one. Luckily for me they started growing a couple of weeks after I was born, and even more luckily, they’re pretty long. The only issue is as they’re really blonde at the tips, they don’t look as long as they ought to.
