August Favourites

It’s the last day of August and Autumn is just around the corner, so I thought I’d share my favourite things from August with you.

Garnier Micellar Water (from Superdrug):

Since I bought a bottle of this, I’ve been using it every day. It’s made a real difference to my skin, which is no longer covered in obvious spots on my left cheek. I also no longer wake up with parts of the previous day’s make-up smudged over my face, result!

Sherbet Fizz nail varnish (from George at Asda):  

I’ve been loving this nail varnish, I think it’s a lovely summery colour and I’ve been wearing it so much. The name is also pretty awesome!

Zoella’s Scrubbing Me Softly Body Scrub (from Superdrug):

This is my next favourite thing, which honestly surprised me! It’s not that I didn’t think it’d be good, but I’m not a fan of “celebrity” products and usually steer well clear of them. I was attracted to this because of the packaging and I’m glad I picked it up! It’s made my skin so soft and smooth and it smells divine.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes (from Waterstone’s):

My book of the month is a book I’ve read before and couldn’t put it down, this time is no different. It’s about a 26 year old girl trying to breathe life back into a miserable paraplegic’s life. It’s utterly heartwarming and heartbreaking. I got a £10 book token from my Mum and Dad for my birthday so I may have to invest in more of Jojo’s books!

Kenwood Kmix (from Kenwood. I got mine from Tesco Direct but it’s no longer available):

I’ve only used this twice, once to help J bake my own birthday cake(!?!) and once to make cookies (keep an eye out later in the week when that post goes up) but I absolutely love my new mixer!!  I used to use an electric hand mixer and bits of butter/sugar mixture used to fly out of the bowl all over the kitchen tiles. I also found that when I added cocoa powder, there would be a chocolate explosion everywhere! Now I have the Kmix, my kitchen is once again a serene and clean place! It comes with a splash-guard so whatever you’re mixing is contained in the bowl. I love that it goes with the kitchen too!
