I always feel that art can really change a house into a home and give it a personal touch. That being said, I’ve never really been in a position to buy art before (I don’t think ripping out posters from magazines really counts to be honest!).
For months now I’ve been admiring the prints by a lovely local Brighton artist, Linda Boucher (who’s located in Kings Road Arches in Brighton, near the Pier.)
As I didn’t know what I wanted for my birthday, my parents very kindly offered to buy me a couple, which was really generous!! In the end, I had to get three as I couldn’t just pick two , so I bought the third one myself 🙂
There’s something beautiful about their simplicity but they’re really sweet and charming at the same time. I chose the two lovebirds print as it’s super cute and makes me think of me and J
I also picked this gorgeous print of a white cat staring at all the fish in a pond because I love cats and thought this was just adorable!
Lastly, I went for this otter print. I love the bubbles and the fish spiralling round and round the print 🙂
We currently don’t have any prints up on our walls as we’re waiting to sand and paint before we put any up. However, I think J is going to put them up for me as part of my birthday present, which is really lovely of him!! I think the otter print and cat print are going to go up in the lounge, but I’m not sure where I’m going to put the lovebird print; perhaps the hallway or our bedroom. The only place I know they definitely won’t be going is the dining room. It’s become a bit of a man cave, complete with cement mixer (which is an odd conversation piece).
Does anyone else have a favourite artist they want to share because I’d love to expand my art collection. Let me know in the comments below 🙂 x

Saw this and liked the work.
love the prints – and turning a house into a home is a wonderful and highly creative thing – so worthwhile. Not everyone can do it but I bet you can! Thinking about favourite artists… I like Eric Ravilious’ paintings of The Long Man of Wilmington and the Chalk Horse – he depicts the sweep and drama of the Downs so well, but he isn’t to everyone’s taste. Thanks for sending me the link – looking forward to future blogs xx
I shall check him out. My favourite painting ever is Ophelia by John Millais! X
