A Chatty Catch-Up | October 2020

So October is over and we’re now into November! October was a pretty good month for me as my anxiety has been pretty quiet; I think going on loads of walks helped (although I’m not a fan of the rainy weather.)

Here’s what I got up to in October πŸ™‚

Food:

It was J’s birthday in October so I made him some chocolate brownie cookies using the recipe from Jane’s Patisserie. They tasted absolutely delicious and I’d definitely recommend giving the recipe a go!!

What I loved:

We had to get Mr Bear a bigger cat bed as he’d outgrown his old one and kept falling out of it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ J picked up this gorgeous faux fur cat bed from Matalan. Mr Bear usually takes months to like something, but he took to this straight away!! It’s been so cute watching him loving his bed!

Recently my broken link plugin let me know that the link to my pin display box from IKEA was broken. I assumed they’d changed the URL but it seems as though it’s been discontinued 😭😭 I had a look on eBay but someone was trying to sell one for Β£43 (fuckers, they only cost Β£12.99!!)

While I was looking for a replacement, I found this display box from Hobbycraft! It was Β£14, but with discounts and cashback, it only cost me Β£11! If you’re planning on buying one for your pins, the back is foam-covered hessian and the pins go through really easily. The pins don’t go right to the back, which means the pin backs don’t bend!Β I love that I have a new board to use once my old one is full up!

I got two new pins in October; first up is this gorgeous daydream shark pin from Sunlit Soul to go on my new display board. Kimmy sells the most adorable plushie sharks and updates her site most Fridays, but the plushies always sell out in seconds!! Having one of her shark pins is the next best thing!!

I also got this adorable sausage dog pin from Emma Pierce Studio! Not only does he look super cute and like he’s wearing a little Halloween outfit, he also glows in the dark!!

For Halloween, J and I stayed in and watched IT Chapter Two (with all the lights in the house off!) We really enjoyed the film and I thought it had the right amount of scare!

I wore my Forever Halloween tee from Fae Folk CoΒ to celebrate the day πŸŽƒπŸŽƒ

Home and garden:

Months ago we had to take one of the kitchen cupboards out and, in order to do so, we had to unplumb our mini sink. Although we finished with the cupboard really quickly, we never got round to putting the sink back together. I got bored of not being able to use it, so one Saturday, we plumbed it back in and resealed it onto the worktop!

I spent one very long and painful weekend on my hands and knees cleaning the grout on both the kitchen and bathroom floors! It was worth it though because the difference is amazing and it looks like we’ve got new flooring! I just used a small scrubbing brush and some all-purpose cleaner.Β
