To be honest, when I sat down to write this month’s catch up, I could barely remember what I got up to at all. I actually had to look back at earlier blog posts and check my Google calendar to know what I did!
Food:
I was lucky enough to be invited out to The Ivy for brunch with a few other bloggers. It was a really lovely morning and I got to catch up with old friends and meet some lovely new women. I had the most amazing pancakes and wrote a full post about my experience that you can read here.
After hanging out at The Ivy, Sammy and I decided we needed to catch up more, so one evening after work we went to Yefsis on London Road. I go past it all the time on the bus, but I’ve never had the opportunity to go in. It’s a Greek restaurant and has one lovely sunlit room but still maintains a lovely intimate feel. Sammy and I shared some kolokithokeftedes (courgette fritters with feta cheese served with tzatziki) and Saganaki (a grilled cheese which was a little like halloumi). I chose the Sheftalia pita wrap for my main (a homemade Cypriot sausage with onions, tomatoes and chips inside). It was delicious although I felt so full afterwards; maybe a main and sharing two sides was a bit much ππππ
On a sunny Saturday near the end of May, my friend Sarah came down to Brighton with her little boy and we hung out at Brighton Marina. We headed to Las Iguanas for lunch; I’d not been there before and was pleasantly surprised how pretty and bright it looked!! I went for the chicken enchilada, which came on a bed of refried beans and spring onion rice. It was really tasty but not too filling. I also had a raspberry cooler and Sarah and I shared some churros for pudding!! It was pretty cool because ordering a main course meant that her little boy’s meal was free!! I love a bargain π
On the bank holiday, my brother Phil came down with his new girlfriend and we went to the marina for lunch (it’s becoming a habit). We went to Casa Brasil and we all went for the all you can eat buffet!! I had a gorgeous strawberry mojito (mocktail, ovbs)
J bought a pressure cooker which was pretty exciting so I found a great recipe for pulled pork and, on Sunday, I slow cooked it for 6 hours!! It tasted fantastic and the pork was so soft and tender!! I’m making a lamb tagine this week as well so I’m excited to use the pressure function!!
Purchases:
I haven’t really bought much this month to be honest. My favourite purchase has to be this cute plant print tee from Jemma. She ran a campaign through Mercht and there were loads of colours and sizes to choose from, but I opted for the grey in a large so I could tuck it in. It’s so soft and such a lovely fit π
I had the Tuesday after the bank holiday off so I popped into town for some bits. I picked up a little present for #babydork and loads of face masks in Primark and bought a new little backpack in New Look. As a bonus they were having a sale that I didn’t notice so it was even cheaper!!
Home and garden:
We spent the first bank holiday sorting out more of our boxes upstairs and took a load of stuff to the tip. We now have more space upstairs so hopefully we can rearrange some of the boxes to create even more room π
J spent a few weekends getting the curtain rail up in the dining room (we have a bay window so it’s been a bit of a bitch) but he did a fantastic job and now we have curtains π
We spent the last bank holiday moving our lounge around to create more space and putting new blue throws on the sofas to replace the old brown stripey ones!!
We also did a lot of digging in the garden because our side is a lot higher than the neighbour’s side and it makes the fence look awful, so we’re having to re-do it π
Don’t forget to check out my wonderful advertiser; Kathleen.Β Kathleen is a premium skincare brand with a passion for all things natural and organic.Β They have an incredible range of products and I’ve reviewed the Illuminating Serum, the Sonic Facial Cleanser and their brand new shower gels and body oils!

Certainly sounds like you’ve been busy! I love it when you buy something and it’s unexpectedly reduced. It’s the best feeling.
It happened in Boots and New Look, I was chuffed!! π
You’ve been a busy bee throughout May! That strawberry mojito looked so cute and I adore your hair style in your tee photo π x x
