A Chatty Catch-Up | December 2020

Hello! Happy belated new year everyone!! 2020 is finally over and although 2021 still remains pretty uncertain, at least we can hope for a better year, right??

December was a lovely month, I had a couple of weeks off work, ate ALL the Christmas food and watched so much TV πŸ˜€ Here’s what else I got up to πŸ™‚

Food:

Mine and J’s anniversary was at the beginning of December (we celebrated 7 years together) so we decided to get ourselves a Dodo pizza! J opted for a double pepperoni and I went for the Dodo Supreme (ham, mushroom, pepperoni, peppers and pineapple)! I was going to ask for the pineapple to be left off because it’s bloody gross, but J really wanted the pineapple πŸ™ I was very brave and tried a slice!! I tell you what, I’m now a pineapple on pizza convert, it’s amazing!! Anyone else love pineapple on pizza??

Christmas Day was quiet because it was just me, J and Mr Bear. We went all out though and I cooked a whole goose with roast potatoes, roast parsnips, braised cabbage, sprouts with bacon, pigs in blankets, stuffing and gravy!! It was so good and I didn’t even get stressed out and cry (it’s a recurring theme every year)!!

What I loved:

I picked up a couple of new enamel pins for my collection! First up is this gorgeous stag and mountain pin from Fairy Cakes. Deer are one of my favourite animals so I knew I had to have this one! I also grabbed this amazingΒ Always Watching pin from KellyLouUKπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ J and I always quote this to each other as we both love Monster’s Inc!

I usually go to the Isle of Wight for a few days before Christmas to see my parents, but obviously wasn’t able to this year. Instead we decided to do a video call on Christmas Day, which was really lovely πŸ™‚ They also surprised me by sending me these lovely flowers πŸ™‚

Home and garden:

As I had a couple of weeks off over Christmas, I decided to take advantage of the downtime by starting to paint the hallway! Our hallway is a weird mix of green and pink walls (from the previous owner) and we’ve just never done anything about it. Unfortunately the paint was really flaky so I had to do a lot of prep work and it still looks pretty shit close up!! However, from a distance it looks so new and fresh πŸ˜€

I’ve done two or three coats on the front door walls, but only done one coat on the walls round the window so far.
