A Chatty Catch-Up | August 2020

August is always a good month, there’s usually loads of warm sunny days, I take a couple of weeks off and it’s also my birthday!

Here’s what I got up to in August:

Food:

We got this rainbow unicorn birthday cake from Asda in the “whoops” section. Although it looks super cute (apart from the buttercream smoosh), it didn’t actually taste of anything at all πŸ™

My parents also got me a birthday cake from Thornton’s which, thankfully, was absolutely delicious!!

What I’ve loved:

Every year I treat myself to a birthday present. It’s usually a tattoo but, for many reasons, I had to forgo that this year!!

Instead, I bought myself this beautiful lemon dress from Dorothy Perkins!! I wanted it for ages but didn’t buy it. Thanks to Instagram ads, I noticed it was in the sale so I went to see if they had it in my size! I then found it in my size in the “tall” version and it was even cheaper, so I snapped it up!! I managed to get a discount on it too!! πŸ‹πŸ’›πŸ‹

I absolutely love the Remy brooch my best friend, Charlie, got me for my birthday! Isn’t he adorable? I love the tiny spoon he’s holding!!

I spent a few days on the Isle of Wight at my mum and dad’s new home πŸ™‚ They moved a few weeks ago and worked really hard on doing it up, it looks lovely!! We had lots of chats, played games, I took loads of my old stuff back home with me and I got to spend some time down by the sea!!

The wonderful ladies over at Dermalogica sent me a little birthday package!! I got a cute birthday card, a gorgeous little mug and some of their Biolumin-c serum, which is a brightening vitamin c serum!! They also very kindly sent me their new release; the Hydro Masque Exfoliant which I can’t wait to try πŸ™‚

Home and garden:

We finished the fence that runs between us and our next door neighbours. It’s been great because they can no longer see me hanging out my washing!! The area by the steps is one of our next projects. We want to level it out and put paving slabs down so we can put our shed there!

We also finished the first part of our back section!! Our garden is a weird triangle shape garden so we have neighbours either side of us and our back garden backs on to four houses’ back gardens!! We’ve now fenced off one neighbour completely!! (Can you spot Mr Bear in the photo?)

We also started building a new flowerbed so we have a base to put our posts in to continue the fence along the wall!

Plus, we finally (after having it in a pot for two years) planted our cherry tree!! I’m hoping that it grows really well and that we get some cherries from it next year πŸ™‚

Finally, don’t forget to check out my amazing advertiser:

They have an incredible range of products and I’ve reviewed the Illuminating Serum, the Sonic Facial Cleanser and their brand new shower gels and body oils on my blog πŸ™‚ They’re also on Twitter and Instagram as well 🌸🌸🌸
