A Chatty Catch-Up | April 2020

Well, April was an absolute shit show, wasn’t it? I was ill at the end of March and then lockdown happened. Life completely changed overnight and, I’m not going to lie, some days have been an absolute struggle in terms of my anxiety. I’m trying to look at the positives though; my friends and family are all okay and I’m grateful that I can work from home.

I really hope that you’re all okay too and I’m sending you lots of love ❀️❀️

Here’s what April looked like for me:

Food:

Well, for obvious reasons we’ve not been out anywhere to eat recently!! We’ve also had to start shopping at Asda again as it’s a lot closer to home!! Somehow our food shopping has more than doubled because we’re trying not to go every week!! We’ve also done some shopping for our neighbours and J’s parents who live near us.

We did manage to grab a few discounted Easter eggs though, which we’ve been working our way through πŸ˜€

I also made J and I a pretty delicious salmon and cream cheese bagel with cucumber for lunch last week and it’s all I can think about now!!

What I’ve loved:

I finally got the time to sort out my pin collection!! I bought a KASSEBY frame from IKEA well over a year ago to display my pins in but it’s just been sat in the lounge, still in the wrapper. My pins were all shoved in a padded envelope and I never saw them πŸ™ I put them into categories; Harry Potter, Disney, seasonal, food, animals, miscellaneous and TV shows/films. I absolutely love how they’re displayed now and that I can see them all the time! I’d definitely recommend the frame if you’re looking to buy something to display your pin collection! The back is felt so you can move the pins around without leaving obvious holes!!

A lovely hashtag called #SpreadKindness started trending on Twitter where people could share their Amazon wishlists for people to send them little treats. I ended up receiving loads of I Love 7th Heaven face masks, some lip balm, a pummice stone and some Candy Kittens πŸ™‚ Thank you so much to anyone who sent me something, it was so lovely and really put a smile on my face πŸ™‚

J and I started going on some walks round our local park at the weekends. It’s only a 3 minute walk from our house so we don’t have far to get there! It’s also really pretty and while we’re walking around, we judge all the dogs we see; which one’s the fluffiest, the littlest, the biggest etc!!

Blogging:

Being home all the time means I’ve finally got back into blogging again, which I’ve been loving!! I finally finished my personal training post, published a catch-up on the year so far post (January – March 2020) and wrote a post about the TV shows I’m loving on Amazon Prime which was pretty popular πŸ™‚

I was very kindly sent some amazing-looking products from a company called So Natural to review. I’m currently testing everything out and I’ll report back in a month or so πŸ™‚

Home and garden:

When I started working from home, I was in the lounge on the laptop but after doing a workspace assessment through work, I was told that I needed to find a better working space, if I could!! Luckily the dining room is big enough for me and J (J already had his desk and computer in there) however, the other side of the room was full of junk so J and I spent about three days clearing it so we could set up the dining room table again for a proper workspace!! It’s a much better set-up now and my back definitely feels a lot less painful!

Finally, don’t forget to check out my amazing advertisers:

They have an incredible range of products and I’ve reviewed the Illuminating Serum, the Sonic Facial Cleanser and their brand new shower gels and body oils on my blog πŸ™‚

They’re also on Twitter and Instagram as well 🌸🌸🌸

  1. I am making a return to blogging after a VERY long time. The #SpreadKindness project you speak of sounds lovely. I may need to check it out. Nothing like spoiling someone. You never know what anyone is going through, so it’s nice to give someone a little something that might brighten their day.

  3. Your start of this post made me laugh. Let’s not beat around the bush.. .April was shit haha! Great post. I binge watched One Tree Hill on Prime at the beginning of the year and I wish I hadn’t now because I’d have loved to save it for lockdown! It’s okay though because I’m on Desperate Housewives now. Smoked Salmon, cream cheese and cucumber bagels are one of my favourite lunches EVER! <3

    1. Thank you lol!! It was super shit, wasn’t it? Yay, glad you have something else to watch πŸ™‚ Ha, the bagels are amazing, aren’t they? xx

    1. Thank you! I’ve been collecting them for a while now πŸ™‚ Ii’ve spoken to my GP and I’m going to try Sertraline to see how I get on! πŸ™‚ xx

  6. Loving the efforts to keep busy and positive throughout this nightmare! It’s not good for anxiety at all this lockdown so I hear you on that one. Always a result to get cheap chocolate eggs though right? Haha

My lockdown is actually not too bad I’ve gone from prison into a more relaxed prison haha

I look forward to reading more πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks πŸ™‚ Yeah, it’s been pretty shit but trying to stay positive!! Haha, that must still feel pretty weird though, right?

      1. Yeah it’s very weird but still a lot more freedom than I had so I try and focus on the positives! That daily exercise is where it’s at πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

  7. Oh my goodness, the first line of your post actually made me laugh out loud!
    Those bagels look incredible 😍
Our food shop has also pretty much doubled too but we’re still going every week. Clearly I’m doing something wrong!
Oh I’ll keep an eye out for the So Natural post. I suffer with sensitive skin so this looks good! xx

    1. Thank you lol!! Yeah, the bagels were amazing, I wish I’d bought more now!! Ha, I think it’s because I’m trying to buy extra for lunches and stocking up as we’re not sure when we’re shopping next. Luckily our last shop was cheap as we got an online order! Hopefully the post will be up at the end of next month or the beginning of June πŸ™‚ xx

      1. I love how you’ve chosen to display your pins! It’s great when you’re able to have your collections on display. I wish I could with my Buffy collectables, but I don’t have that much room at the moment. Lock down has been weird, I’m at my boyfriend’s – where I was staying when it hit – bit still going into the office everyday. I can’t work from home as I’m key to the day to day running of the business and needed on site. But I think I’d rather be safe at home! Or at my boyfriend’s.

        1. Thank you πŸ™‚ I hope you get room, Buffy collectibles definitely need to be displayed!! Ah sorry to hear oyu’re still having to go in, I hope the office is keeping safe xx

          1. They really do! 😊 Yeah are, we’re all separated out and those that aren’t crucial to the day to day running of the business are working from home. x

  8. Sounds like you’ve been keeping busy! I stocked up on cheap easter eggs too and it might of been the best things I’ve done all month hahah x

    1. Yeah, it’s been a mix of being productive and dicking around on the internet for hours lol!! Omg, aren’t cheap Easter eggs the best? I think we have two left now x
